Give back fortune' pleads Lord Glenconner widow after he left fortune to West Indian manservant The widow of Lord Glenconner, who has left his fortune to his West Indian manservant, yesterday appealed for him to return part of the estate to the family. Distressed Lady Anne Glenconner said she hoped that Kent Adonai, 48, ‘would do the right thing’. At a memorial service for Lord Glenconner, 83, near Innerleithen in the Scottish Borders, Lady Anne said: ‘Kent was beloved by my husband but so were we all – I was married to him for 55 years.’ Do the right thing: Lady Anne Glenconner has pleaded with Kent Adonai to return part of the estate her late husband left back to the family Kent Adonai, Lord Glenconner's Valet outside the house he was given by his boss in St Lucia, West Indies. this story is quite inspiring...devotion rewarded...i wonder if adonai knew that he would be left the estate or if he was surprised as well...
Wow, this article really brought the reality to me that there are still manservants and the like running around in various parts of the world. It's good that his service was rewarded though. However, I think it would be nice of him to at least give a portion back to the family, at least for the sake of the grandson to have something from his departed grandfather.
I hope he keeps every cent. Those were probably aweful and that's why he gave the money to his servant.
That level of devotion was once called slavery. He deserves every cent. If he wants to be kind of enough to provide for others, rather it is the Glenconner family or anyone else that is up to him. I noticed Kent Adonai's shirt says Tennant on it, I assume this family is related to Charles Tennant the chemical industrialist. I could be wrong of course but, if my assumption is correct this family is so wealthy and powerful that there are several uncles and aunts that can easily pay for the grandson's wants and needs. If it is that family, they actually own there own island in the West Indies.
