Looking at San Antonio

I'm looking for jobs out in Texas and looked at Austin and San Antonio, but one of the companies I'm currently interviewing with and it seems to be going well is in San Antonio.

I open the opportunity to move and explore the world a little bit more. I've never lived out west. I've lived in the east coast all my life.

How's the IR scene in San Antonio for a young late 20s brother like myself? I'm currently in Atlanta and ATL as a whole is very progressive. I've dated interracially here and had no problems for the most part, though you encounter a few racist white men and black women. Any thoughts/advice/input appreciated.

I don't know much about the IR scene these days in either city (it's been a while since I've been there), but I saw more BM/WW couples in Austin. Most of the mixed couples I've seen in San Antonio were Mexican & white. If I was choosing which place to go between them, I'd choose Austin.

San Antonio and Austin is great. Austin is prolly better for IR dating... but where is Lightbrother4U, he lives there.... see if you can find him and send him a rep w a question. He doesn't post frequently.

Job is probably gonna be in San Antonio by the looks of things, but SA and Austin are only an hr away.

    Thank you too FG

They are both nice cities, so you'd probably be happy living in either one. And like you said, at least they aren't too far from each other. As FG mentioned, Lightbrother4U lives in SA & he'd be a good person to ask for info. I hope everything goes smoothly for you with the move. :)

I was there for a few days downtown for business. Seems to have a large Hispanic population. Didn't see many young women but this is in the middle of the week.

Of course it does have a large Hispanic population.
There is lots of young people (how young are you looking at?) there but DT may not be the place they are at. I have friends there and they are rarely DW.
The whole River Walk area is mostly for tourists anyhow.
We should flag down Lightbrother4U somehow so he can give you the deal:)

Yeah I need to fight Lightbrother4U. I just didn't get a chance to do a lot of stuff.

You will find san antonio to be very tolerant of IR relationships. They are everywhere and people for the most part are laid back and accepting of things. Downtown has lots of white women around - i see them everyday. Like FG mentioned, there are mostly tourists on/around the riverwalk area. But not ALL of them are tourists. There's lots of shopping, restaurants, and bars down there too. Aside from downtown, the northside of town is where you will find white women (first chance you get, go to Northstar mall:D) as well as anything outside of Loop 1604 (the newest parts of town). the NW side (where i live) has an even population breakdown as long as you stay OUTSIDE of loop 410....Also don't forget about all the military bases located here. I bring that up because, being ex-military, i know firsthand that people from all over the country/world live here....There are lots of opportunities here, but everything is spread out around different parts of town. SA is big - like a mini houston (THAT is one big city lol)

and yes, this place is heavily hispanic-dominated lol

    Hope this helps

Mind if I bother you one more time? What's a good area for apartments in SA?

    Northwest side outside loop 410
Southwest side outside loop 410 (the area near seaworld is beautiful)
Northside..esp anything near the airport (be warned traffic is horrible though lol)
    anything around LP 1604

i'd avoid the westside, most of the southside, and any place inside LP 410 (towards downtown)
