http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/06/09/alabama-immigration-law-s_n_873868.html Who's agrees with me here? I think these laws are based upon racism and white supremacy. I don't think it has to do with political benefits.
Yeah, I'd like to hear what Flaminghetero's opinion is, and the opinions of other people here who aren't in favor of immigration. Sen. Scott Beason R-Gardendale, left, listens as Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley speaks before signing into law what critics and supporters are calling the strongest bill in the nation cracking down on illegal immigration, on Thursday June 9, 2011 at the state Capitol in Montgomery, Ala. (AP)
I agree. I could go into a tirade about how good the bill is but I'd just end up pissing a few people off.
Don't not forget this quote from an American Government book I read: "Conservatives believe that using government actively to promote equality for minorities and women infringes on the rights of white men." That is part of our problem. They believe that white men are supposed to have a "superior standard" to everyone else. It is white supremacy, in a social and political context. It applies to the cause that the immigrants are struggling for, and partially for our cause, which mentions IR between BM/WW, as well.
Albama is the last place a nicca like me going to immigrate, look at all the idiots they have been producing, George Wallace, Charles Barkley, Bed Intruder Song, goodlove, etc... lol.
How is this racist? The only thing I don't agree with is the arresting someone for giving them a ride and suspecting of being an illegal immigrant.
LOL!! Like Alabama doesn't have more pressing problems than illegal immigration. Just a nonsense bill to get some bigoted white folks excited. Yes we need more vigilant immigration laws, but what the Governor in Alabama signed into law is idiotic.
They want to maintain racial purity (just white people) in Alabama. They don't want that state to become more diverse and flooded with more Latinos, Asians, etc. The country its self, is heading down that trajectory. Alabama is just trying to circumvent the demographic changes by creating this law. That's why I said racism is still persistent, at least in Alabama.
that dont want alot of diversity in those deeply conservative states im looking at your mississippi, lol
what about all of those illegal europeans over there? Are they excused from the law? SHould we stop enforcing immigration laws and allow anyone in?
There should be a limit/means of enforcing immigration. But a lot of people can tell that this particular bill (just like Arizona's SB1070 bill) is more racially-based/racist and not really about immigration.
Those laws would not be there if the government would enforce it's laws. The arizona law came out from a person being killed by an illegal immigrant and not so much an ethnic reason since being hispanic isn't being a race therefore can not be racist but can be bigotted. The same issues have happened in many other states where an illegal immigrant killed someone. That person(the illegal immigrant) was not suppose to be here. It is really hard on our system when folks come into the counrty to use resoures that they did not contribute to or for. I would agree that it is an outrage for the government to suspect americans but not the illegal immigants.
Yes, that's right. Illegal immigrants do cause problems. I ultimately think that immigration is something that people can't agree on, because it's something where you either let everyone in, or exclude everyone out.
It can be agreed upon. We did it. Some people just refuse to follow it. It is unfair for one to come over to the country and not follow the rules. People sit at home studying to pass a test but some person just shows up and gets the same things. totally not fair.
