    And likewise...

What if you die tomorrow and there's nothing there?

What if you look down and the floor beneath your feet is nothing but melting ice into a hole of nothingness?

Would it then matter what your eulogy sounded like?

I subscribe to Wicca, but I do find atheists intriguing. BBW, you'd love my former roommate. You guys would have some amazing conversations.

The quote in which Dr. Dawkins used when referring to Quantum Theory best sums up what Deepak Chopra failed to recognize: "Those who think they know quantum theory, are the ones who DON'T know quantum theory."

Basically, it's the fact that Deepak Chopra would create a false understanding of the idea and translate it into "new age" mumbo jumbo. It's only a placebo or sugar pill for people. And you simply CANNOT change your biology in any way shape or form. You can alter physiological and psychological structural understanding, but you cannot alter what you are.

The chances of that happening would have to be in accordance to the environment and situation at the moment. Plus, as Andrae said, I'll be dead to even care. I'll be scared of death when it unexpectedly happen, but at the same time I wouldn't be foolish to coddle myself into a false sense of security with simple belief.

However, those who wish to deliver them, then by all means do it. I won't be there to hear or witness it. Hell, I'd expect a certain someone to rape my corpse if she had the opportunity.

It's pretty much funny how everyone is psychology driven to fear death. Death is just another part of our experience. A transition to say it's all an end. Our mortality and our existence means nothing in an objective sense. However, we can give our existence meaning by living accordingly and be the best person you can be.

I don't think he pressumed to know quantum mechanics rather just a simplistic understanding. Truth be told maybe we can change our biology we just haven't done it on a massive level. The human brain is a fascinating thing. It controls thousands of functions at the same time and within those functions are cells that control thousands of functions themselves and this all happens while only having access to 3% of your brain. Imagine if we had control of 15%.

Nothingness doesn't exist. Arch is a being of energy with in an energy charged universe so he won't fall into nothing just phase from one conscious body to maybe another

That's another junk science jargon: "We use 3-10% of our brains."

Mechanically, we use 100%. The maximum usage as of yet is undetermined. But we accumulate more of our brain usage as we absorb more information into us. And again, I simply cannot see how you insist we can alter our biology. That's as silly as someone implying we can alter our DNA code. It's more accurate to say you can change your psychology and thinking frequencies.

Nothingness can be defined through negations. Consider zero or negative integers.

    1. Check my RESPONSE on page one.

    2. I'm VERY certain that no deity has a hand in my existence.

    3. The only influences outside of my own would be the people around me.

So you find atheists intriguing and you subscribe to Wicca......Now that sounds like an exciting alternative to salvation and christianity.......that is the absolute beauty of free moral agency......we get to do anything we damn-well want while we are alive......After we die, There might or might not be consequences for our asses.....We'll have to die to see.....

I find all religions and non-religions intriguing actually, especially the major religions like Christianity since they pretty much stole from Wicca to begin with, and then stomped on the Pagans to gain power. The evolution of religion to non-religion is fascinating for me.

I went to Wicca at 11 years old...so, it was more like 'First, you get into Wicca and I have to worry about you casting spells! THEN you become a crazy liberal feminist who goes marching on Washington for the Baby Killer March, and during all of this, you're bringing home black guys?! WHERE DID I GO WRONG!?' :)

I think it's highly possible that we're here for absolutely no reason whatsoever. It is a human conceit (in my humble opinion) that we have a purpose and a deeper meaning than simply existing because we do. However, I am open to being proven wrong: I'm not proclaiming to have any existential 'answers'.

Dude that's not fair. The Christians on this board love posting faith based threads. Why shouldn't he? Rule #1:
Don't post in a thread you don't like. It's counter productive.

This part does not make a lick of sense whatsoever. And for the record, this thread have a lot of civility and casual discussion pertaining to this board. For someone who just jumped in here and not know his way around the forums, I'd suggest you take your damn advice sit your simple ass down.

Don't like this thread? Don't bother posting here. If you have the brain cells to comprehend that, then demonstrate that you're even half a human.

Exactly, Andrae. However, I think his little pot shot have more to do with me arguing him down on certain issues and he's still scratching his head.

You're just making yourself look like an immature asshole. So, I really don't have to do much since you're incapable of following instructions.
