Well, sounds like you know the deal. Don't beat yourself up for it, just learn from it. From his proven track record thus far, he's obviously not as responsible as you are. You need someone on your level (and I'm not talking about financially either, just in many facets). It's too bad cause you liked the way he treated you, but I think sometimes having tough love with someone is showing support. You haven't been with him long enough where you can provide other things for him if need be. If he's gonna be flaky, especially when it comes to his boy and his job, just imagine what things could happen if you married him when you really need him to be responsible and/or pull his weight. These are tall tale signs.

As far as the cell bill goes, I remember watching a Judge Judy episode and she went in on a girl who shared her cell bill with her boyfriend. I hope he pays for his share.

Good luck with your toe situation....

Csbean I'm wondering did you ever just talk to him?
    Express how you feel?

hey bean...i see you have been through the meat grinder...lippy isn't going to slap your hand only tell you that i can identify with your situation...sometimes it can be difficult being a woman that finally has it all together and then hopes to find that final puzzle piece of a man...unfortunately we have to go through these types of situations in order to learn life lessons...it prepares us for the future mr. right one...whatever you do don't settle along the way for less than what you really want...i see women all the time desperate to have a man in their lives that they are willing to overlook lying, cheating and the way they treat other people...your situation is a tough one because you start dating a man that has a job and then very soon into it the job is lost...it is a tough call because i'm sure you wanted to be supportive...where to draw the line on support is a variable...awwwww, the let's own a pet together...this must be a man thing...some sort of a pathetic attempt to bond us...pretty manipulative if you ask me...find the kitten a new home and try to get back to some sort of normal;)

With my girlfriend/wife/significant other, I'd want emotional or moral support, but in general I am not comfortable with financial support. I took out a larger than necessary loan for the first year of law school to avoid having to lean on my wife for help. The only thing I wanted her to do was handle the costs of the apartment and I paid for our house and handled all other finances. And hell, she couldn't even do that for 3 weeks. So CSBean, I understand your frustration.

I'm not into the whole "guy paying for the girl" all the time, but I do get uncomfortable taking from my woman. I think it skews the dynamic in the relationship and builds subtle contempt for you from the woman's perspective. I could be wrong, but that's just the way I feel.
