Well I'm currently residing in South Africa but I'm originally from a small country inside South Africa called Lesotho . I'm not sure if any of you have heard of the place, if you have then that's great. I'm somewhat of a nomad and throughout my journey the people I've met have nothing but great things to say about this country(South Africa) but most of them went to Cape Town while they were vacationing here. Cape Town is like a "mini Europe" in Africa, it's unique in it's own way. In my honest opinion I don't believe you've had the full South African experience if you've only been to Cape Town. Anyway, I'm rather curious as to how people view South Africa from the outside in. Is it a country that you would ever consider living in or maybe even visiting at some point in your life? Or is it one of places you could simply care less about?
I heard of that small country. It is where that King who have more than 30 wives. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Hahaha! No, I think you are confusing it with Swaziland. The King in Lesotho is not allowed to have more than one wife, polygyny is not part of our culture.
Thanks for correcting me. I knew there are two independent countries in South Africa but ,got confused with one of them.
Was there last year for the last world cup where my country kicked ass for Africa and i must say South African women have nice curvy shape and outrageously big booties but i realized the white South African women were not feeling the African brothers, they were more into the African American brothers I guess they were trying to console them when we beat them to get to the quarterfinals.
My knowledge about South Africa is very limited. I am aware of fantastic diving with Great White Sharks and a friend of mine is from South Africa. She worked as a paramedic on the ambulance and had been shot at many times at work. She said her ambulance had several bullet holes. And that is the extent of my knowledge. I'd love to visit.
Wow, that's an interesting observation. Obviously erroneously, I perceived South Africa, and Cape Town specifically, as being racially polarized without much interest on the part of white women there for anyone of African origin.
In South Africa, the population of whites are a mere 9% and those who tend to be hostile towards black Africans are the Boers, who thinks it's their divine right to secure these lands.
Great White Sharks and gun shots..... and you'd love to visit. Yup, that's the Athena I know! In all seriousness, a part of me has been considering looking at S.Africa as a place to eventually move to. It's slowly claiming Australia's rank as my 2nd desired destination.
That's interesting J, what are your top 3 locations? What attracts you to S. Africa? Now that I have lived away from Canada for 2 years, I realize how much I love being near family, so I'd like to stay in North America at least for the next bunch of years. But then again, if I could get a job in Greece, south France, or really anywhere along there, I'd move! :smt048
US (Hawaii, specifically), Australia and S.Africa. It is tropical, great surf, great diving, more natural environment than I'm used to... somehow I dream that in doing so I can step away from the concrete jungle rat race. I'm really just ready to sell everything and have a change. Fortunately I have no family to tie me to any place, I feel as though the world is at my disposal. It's just a matter of making the preparations and going! S. France would be awesome too.
