She keeps making these poor points and comparisons I don't get it. Women in Hollywood(since this is the litmus test we're using) are hired because they are good looking. Very very few have the talent to carry a movie based on acting ability alone and those that are usually do dramas. The people she keeps listing are know for romantic comedies(which count on contrast to sell the humor ie black guy white guy, adult/child, fat/skinny) or action movies which are visually driven. Who the fuck wants to see a transformers movie where the girl is plain or barely pretty. It's about selling a fantasy. If you want reality watch a damn documentary. The men aren't judged as much by the way they look as much as what they actually do. I watch an action movie for the action but lets not get carried away because its not like ugly guys get to be leading men either. Leading men are ALWAYS in shape in an action movie.

So because millions of people follow Hollywood it makes it sacrosant? You clearly are not bright else you wont make such shallow statements. Millions of people watch porn does that mean they do all that stuff in porn? Hollywood is make believe so only a moron will lap it up hook, line and sinker. I mean Paris Hilton Kim,Kardashian and Lindsay Lohan are all Hollywood and we all know where their IQ are so don't use the Hollywood theory, Einstein. And who said bbw is a fetish for everybody? There are bbw dating sites which have no sexual connotation to it at all and if you were thinking with your head above your shoulders you would get that.
Smh i feel i am explaining things to a retarded moron:cool:

You're slow as fuck. Clearly if everyone followed hollywood as much as you say a third of the population wouldn't be obese. Far more people would athletic or thin.

    This is true.

I've been trying to stay out of this.

Our problem is it's all such loaded discussion in the west.

A woman should be able to be realistic and say to herself 'I am a beautiful person, I'm staying confident but i am overweight or fat right now and I want to get a bit healthier/slimmer for me and my family'.

Straight talk doesn't mean you hate yourself but in the west we don't get this

Not picking a fight, but so have I. I'm not as scrawny as I used to be, but I'm 5'1" and used to weigh 6&1/2 stone(91 lb apparently). Random strangers thought it was a-ok to approach me in the street and criticise my weight, friends of mine will happily go on and on about how "men love curves" and "no-one wants a rake!" etc. and not even consider that they might be being offensive. This isn't a fat issue, it's a "everybody bitches about everybody else" issue. If you said to a friend "ughh, I've gained so much weight, I feel ugly" they would still be more likely to say something nice or positive than "lose weight then".
Not really a fair comparison, the guy on KoQ(love that show, btw ^^) has(as far as I know) built his career as an overweight male, a truer comparison would be Roseanne Barr.

Dunno who half the people mentioned are, sorry D:

Male celebs gaining weight get picked on in the media/by the public too:

But if she were a man, no one would have bothered her. People feel like they can openly criticize a woman for her weight. It happens with men, but not as much. Plain and simple.

DB how can you possibly know that. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I get negative shit has happened to you but you're not the only one kid.

    Never?

All of these companies use plus-size male models in their online, TV advertisements and/or catalogs.

King Size. Founded over 50 years ago, is a big man's online one stop shopping store.

    Casual Male...

    And...Bigmansland.com...

There are plenty more, but just to name a few for you...

    There's also this...

That's because women trade on looks, men trade on wallet. If a guy's not morbidly obese and has his shit together otherwise w/ job, personality, etc. he can pull a cutie on his level. Maybe a little above, if he's lucky. Chubby hubby. But the onus is on the woman to keep it tight, especially white women, who are not known for being bigger like ethnic women. It's the rules, it's life, boo hoo hoo.

Can we get off the whole "who's suffered most/my-pain-is-bigger-than-yours" victim shit now, please? Men *and* women.

DB I think you're cute, too cute for all this damn crying already. Go find a guy to put his face in your big-ass cleavage and shut up.

Andrae leave these damn women alone unless you can post a pic of your goddamn six-pack like BlackMasterJay or Iggy. Them cats talk shit about fat chicks too but they've got abs to back it up. Until then STFU.

In your continual assault to downplay (in this case completely disregard) the real-life insults that fat women experience, do you realize that you contradict yourself in the very same sentence?
    You said;
"Are big people in general marginalized and ignored? Absolutely. But outward criticism? I've never witnessed or heard about it, especially with women. Now men on the other hand is another story. It's societally acceptable to confront and pick on men."

So which is it, kid? (Never mind, I already know).

In the context of this thread, it is. But please understand why she mentioned her experiences...
She was responding to MrFantastic's statement that he NEVER ever witnessed or knew of any male calling females fat to their face, not even on reality TV, but that he has often witnessed fat men get insulted to their face. (and their nipples pinched and stomach punched if we go by another post of his, but I digress.)
