Online Arguments/Fights and Negativity on this site.

Am I the only one that thinks online arguements are stupid especially when they are over bullshit? It's just a HUGE waste of everyones time and it doesn't make things better. It often make things worse. I swear this website is built on negativity. I see alot more people fighting than getting along like in one of the threads in the the Ladies Locker Room. For some reason something escalated there. It made absolutely NO sense to me. It was too much. I couldn't keep up with it. It was just one big shouting match. I was just sighing and shaking my head at the whole thing. Geez people. This just a website on the internet. People here take alot of shit seriously. It's not that serious. This coming from a neutral stand point. I'm not taking any sides here. This wasn't first big fight that we had here. Certainly won't be the last. I think e-fighting over nonsense is pretty fucking stupid. I know we all have are disagreements and differences, but still. Why can't we all make a better effort to get along even though we would NEVER agree on everything? However, I do admit that I can be arguementative myself if I'm pushed far enough. I usually like to avoid conflicts. I also know I don't post here very often. I'll be honest, I'm kind of glad of it. That way I get caught up in nonsense like this.

This is just my opinion. Take it how you want it. Sometimes I think I probably shouldn't give a fuck. No one else seems to. Why bother? But for some odd reason, I care. I just do.

 

That was no fight in the Ladies Room. That was various people attempting to get a certain person to recognize that he tends to involve himself in drama that can easily be avoided. Unfortunately said individual seems to think that everyone for one reason or another is out to get him and silence him when we are not. Because of said individuals youthful stubbornness and willfully refusing to think otherwise things went way off the rails. There were also a few legitimate shots taken through out but otherwise can't be classified as a "fight".

 

Fight fight fight fight, rage is the answer to all, lol.

 

Call it whatever you want, but there was too much drama over there. I admit they did come down hard on him(IMO). I guess you can say he dug his own grave. Me personally, I NEVER had a problem with that guy. He seemed like a cool dude. I also don't get why people were attacking him about his age. I'm a couple of yrs older than him(He said he's 19, I'm 21). I'm starting to think sooner or later people are going to attack my age because I want to express an opinion. lol Anyway, it's still nonsense to me. We are who we are.

 

No one is going to attack you because of your age for expressing an opinion. Everyone was getting on him for his age because he was basically making it seem like at 19 and still living at home with his parents that he knew more about life than people here in their 30's and 40's who have actually been through and seen a few things. He kept bring up the fact that he is pursuing a higher education, which is a positive thing, but he came across as if what he has learned so far made up for any lack of life experience he has. He also seemed to be suggesting that anyone who had not pursued a higher education was using their life experiences as away to make up for their educational shortcomings. It was something that came across in a lot of ways as arrogant on his part by most of the people interacting with him in the thread. That's where most of the perceived hostilely came into play.

 

Prince, what happened there was a long time in coming.

Sure, we have our share of drama here, but that's because people here get invested in this place. We care about some of the people on this site, and we also have a need to be heard as well. However, what happened in that thread wasn't as big of a deal a what you'd find in some threads.

No one cares about your age. It's not an issue unless you make it an issue- ya know? That particular poster has made it somewhat of an issue.

 

Okay, I see your point. I get it now. I can understand why people would think that was arrogant. I'm still young myself and I admit I don't know much about life. I'm naive and still midly immature. My social/people skills are not that good. Actually, it's pretty bad. I still have alot to learn in life. Hell, I barely even lived life yet. I'm not where I want to be in my life. Far from it. My life sucks right now, but it could be worse. I don't even know what I want out of life. However, I'm only speaking for myself.

 

And that is the difference between you and the poster we're talking about.

You know that you don't have all the answers- no one does, and that's FINE! The fact that you're open to discussion about issues speaks volumes about you. I can see why you responded the way you did to the drama, but really, don't let it get under your skin.

 

I know what you mean, DB. I can understand all of that. Shit has definitely hit the fan here alot of times. This drama in particular has dragged out over 20 pages or so.

 

Thanks DB. I shouldn't let it get under my skin, but for some reason it did. I normally don't let things like this bother me, but for some reason it did. There has been alot of tension here lately. You can even cut it with a knife.

You're right. We don't know everything. We don't have all the answers. However, I like to keep an open mind(sometimes).

Part of the concern I have is the level of intellect that I think that we all should have on this site.

Just because I don't agree with Tamstrong and the others about every single thing that is mentioned here doesn't mean that I'm "pond scum", or that I deserve to have a serious failure in life because of it. Besides, in our sociology class, I recall that the professor (a foreign BW) said that people in France have heated debates with each other about topics, and then right when they're done debating, they're still able to be very friendly with each other. That's why I said to Tarshi in that post "no resentment intended". I will do just fine in life and in the real world.

Ra, why do you think there are articles on the internet that state that a 15 year old girl gets accepted into Harvard? My perspective of it is that there's a lot more to it than just age. Goodlove is 42 years old and I have plenty of disagreements with him about a lot of different things. He thinks are animals and insects are above black men in the patriarchal hierarchy that he created. I challenged his posts and argued with him about it, and by Ra's logic, that is drama that I should have stayed out of, and avoided. My perspective of it is that it's not necessarily about age. You can't make a statement saying "All 30 year olds are smarter and know more than all 20 year olds". I never made a statement on here saying that "kids are smarter than adults".

I think if a few people have a problem with what I say or the opinions that I try to defend, you can just simply ignore my posts. I'm here because I like white women and I'd like to exchange ideas and information. Just because I like white women (like almost every other guy does here) doesn't mean that I'd agree with him about the same things. There would still be disagreements about money, marriage, infidelity, divorce, and how to treat your significant other, and perhaps other things. Some things, we could agree on. But according to Ra, if I say anything about that (against what the popular opinion of it is), I'm just heading into drama. That's why I say, if you don't like my views, you can just ignore my posts.

Think about it. We have a thread on here where there are differing views on whether or not white girls should call black guys "niggas". I haven't even replied in that topic because I find the whole thing ridiculous. That topic is not even worth a mention or a debate. That's just my opinion, someone else would say, yes it makes perfect sense to talk about it. If I started replying in that thread, it would create drama. That's why I haven't really read the posts in that thread.

As DB stated big difference between you and the other poster. You get and understand the point everyone else was trying to make. The other poster doesn't because he is trying too hard to prove something to everyone when he does not need to and his efforts are coming off as childish and ridiculous.
