Good thing our fearless leader is over in Ireland drinking beerartyman:, visiting his deep Irish roots he constantly talks about. Oh then he is going on his little tour over in England. But its ok, he will be visiting Joplin on Sunday. So have fun flaming me, but a real leader would of cancelled the trip, got his ass back over here, and do what leaders do. So good to see that the empty suit has his priorities in order.
The hardships and calamities so common in Africa, Southeast Asia and other poorer areas of the world are now seemingly happening here. At least that is what some think. But here are some facts that contradict that. Hurricane in Galveston, Texas -1900 8,000 people dead The Dust Bowl - Early 1930's during the Great Depression led to half a million people being homeless. Great San Francisco Fire and Earthquake - 1906 destroyed more than 500 city blocks, and 3,000 killed, 225,000 left homeless. Okeechobee Hurricane - 1928 in Florida and Caribbean killed at least 2,500 people. Summer Heat Wave of 1980 -Farmers lost $50 billion due to massive drought, and 10,000 people died from heat and heat stress-related ailments. Summer Heat Wave of 1988 - Farmers lost over $60 billion due to massive drought, and nearly 10,000 people died from heat and heat stress-related ailments. Johnstown, Pennsylvania Flood of 1889 - The flood leveled 1,600 homes and killed 2,209 people. Peshtigo Fire of 1871 in Wisconsin killed 1,200. Tri-State Tornado (Missouri, Illinois, Indiana) of 1925 over 700 people killed. And of course Hurricane Katrina killed nearly 2,000 people and inflicted damages around $125 billion. The planet is restless,ever-changing and moving about. We have always had natural disasters and always will until the earth itself evolves into something other than what it is now.
Wow, maybe next time he can schedule his trip around the next natural disaster. Really, it's like you Obama haters never want the guy to leave the WH. SMDH.
Everyone on this site knows you do not like Pres. Obama, there is nothing he can do to please you or warm you over because you have already made up your mind anyway. Like most Black Men he is not a Republican conservative. Therefore your criticism lacks any weight at all, to be honest. Having said that lets compare Pres. Obama to the greatest leader the GOP has produced since the Gipper: George W. Bush W decided to see Katrina's destruction for the first time from his jumbo jet. He didn't cancel his Texas vacation until two days after Katrina struck and didn't visit the region until four days after the storm. His visit to Ground Zero came three days after the 9/11 attacks. I could attack him, but in retrospect I think I see why he hesitated. Why, I think it was because he would have just gotten in the way of the recovery. I really don't think it was because he hated Black people or New Yorkers. Likewise, I think Pres. Obama would simply get in the way as well at this point in the situation. This is a tragedy for sure but, it is not a game changer. It was simply Mother Nature. I live in the Great MidWest Valley, same as Joplin,Mo., there are deadly tornadoes every year in this region. Katrina was a natural disaster that became a human disaster. 9/11 of course was an attack. They are not the same no matter how much Faux News, Teabaggers and others who speak with deception in their hearts try to make it. What I find funny is that a co-worker who also hates Pres. Obama like you do, said the exact same thing. I wonder if you both took your rant from the same source?
it makes you wonder if the people of joplin thought that the world was coming to an end when this happenedvery scary and yes another natural disaster... the preacher that got all the press about the world coming to an end should be locked up...more and more suicide reports every day of people that actually took this fool seriously...any smart person that reads the bible and believes in god knows that the end is mapped out in revelations
This is a perfect example of why I think there should be some sort of test that people have to pass before they're allowed to vote.
Hmmmm, let's see... - Bush neglected hurricane Katrina victims. - GOP run Congress likes to donate money to other countries, but not help the people here by cutting funds for programs. - GOP leaders tend to be more anti-woman with their laws. - Bush and many GOP leaders prefer to give tax breaks to the rich and give a big fuck you to the less fortunate. - Waste money on worthless wars. Selective history won't get you anything, but out the door of Reason. Well, when's the last time you even stepped foot in there anyway?
This is most troublesome. Even parts of New Orleans, even after Katrina still had some sense of normalcy despite the rapid hurricane onslaught.
Bush took 10 days to visit New Orleans and that motherfucker was in D.C., not even overseas. Condeleeza was out buying boots and a citizen told her about Katrina, she didn't even know about it. Cheney was in his undisclosed location. They were all warned in advance by the weather service in a conference call and did nothing (see "When The Levees Broke" on HBO). I think it's hilarious that you people keep trying to pin a Katrina on Obama, first the BP spill, now this. It would be amusing if it wasn't so tragic.
also who do he need to evacuate ? the hurricane took days to come in and your fearless leader G. Bush and the gov or LA couldnt do a decent job in getting people out. also people were stranded everywhere and what was G. Bush doing ?
Joplin Police: We Are 'Ready' for Westboro Baptist Church From William Browning of Yahoo: This group ignores the fact that the United States has the most active weather in the world. Approximately 500 Americans lose their lives to severe weather and floods annually. On average, 10,000 thunderstorms, 2,500 floods, 1,000 tornadoes and 10 hurricanes impact the United States each year. This did not start when Europeans and Africans arrived and started to 'sin'. It was like this when Native Americans where the primary group. That is why they did not settle certain areas because of how dangerous the weather patterns are in some areas. Before this was America, before a Black man became President we had destructive weather.
It's called a diplomatic trip. Would you prefer he not leave the white house then? Maybe he can hire Ms.Cleo on his staff and have her forecast natural disasters so he can plan his trips accordingly.
What the fuck man? How fucking stupid are you? It was a fucking tornado not a hurricane. There wasn't five days days notice that this thing was going to hit bumfuck, Missouri. And while it's fucked up that the town was destroyed. Joplin, Mo. isn't equal to the Gulf Coast of Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi combined. It was a tragedy, but It's not even close to the scale of Katrina. And it definitely wasn't big enough for Obama to cancel a preplanned state trip. I know that they're desperate to pin a Katrina type massive fuck up on Obama, but negroes got be smart enough to realize that this ain't it. This is just the bullshit attack of the week by the Republicans on the Pres.
