You guys are pretty much too thick skulled to get it. That's why we end up all arguing.

And drae, I did not prove his point. I was pointing out that you can't point fingers unless you're pointing at everyone. Restaurants shouldn't make anything without disclosing what's in it (a 3000 calorie salad?! WTF?!); farms shouldn't feed hormones to animals, and the government shouldn't subsidize GMO farming industries like Monsanto. We also shouldn't eat junk, but its cheap, which means the entire country needs to fight to have that reversed.... but we don't. We would rather insult people and point fingers. Nice legacy we are leaving.

I tried to make the junk food is easier argument months ago and you and Tarshi nearly ripped me a new one for that lol.

Well you won't get an argument out of men when it comes to highlighting America's laziness and inability to stand for whats right. We'd rather target easy issues and whine about that instead of demanding real change because "change" is aweful its not what the forefathers wanted for us.
But I will say this as a person who has some success losing weight and who spent the majority of my teen years and early 20s as an athlete. Most people have a very hard time distinguishing eating for nourishment and eating for fun. They don't recognize when they're full. We find any excuse to eat and be sit around. You want to celebrate we eat, you're feeling depressed we eat, we're bored we eat. So most of the finger pointing comes right back to the individual. For everyone finger we point at outside sources 3 should be pointed at us because no one is forcing you to eat incredibly large portions and as frequently as we do. Outside of the food problem people just aren't active enough and to be honest when I was at 270 I was down right embarassed to go to the gym and get why people don't want to do it but its time to put on our big boy and big girl pants and get over that shit. It's not a game its your health, its your life and the excuses are getting old as fuck. There's only two question do you want to live? and do you want to live well?

IMO, the worst of the problem for these two women was perhaps the embarrassment suffered by an improperly trained employee. Having said that, the airlines attempted an alternative that they thought would minimize the discomfort to other passengers, that the ladies sit together. They were not asked to purchase additional seats, though it appears from the video that they wouldn't satisfy the airline's criteria for single seating.

The mother still objected and a supervisor was brought in the matter. He allowed the women to choose open seating and did not require them to pay for additional seats. His job as a supervisor is to find solutions that don't reflect poorly on the part of the airlines. That doesn't mean that the women shouldn't have been charged for two seats.

The fact that they were on layover only means that there're other equally improperly trained employees that didn't follow company policy. It's happened to me in the case of carry-on luggage. One segment allows me to take it on-board and the next gate agent refuses to allow me the carry-on. It's not unusual for employees, despite policy, to "look the other way" and allow things, if flights are less full, if no one complains and depending on their mood that day. I once tried to upgrade a flight at a gate and was told that they had no available seats. I detected something about the demeanor of the gate agent and challenged her veracity. When I got on-board sure enough there was an open seat in business class. I explained the issue to a stewardess on-board was seated in business class.

The fact that the CEO got involved, issued an apology and offered additional compensation isn't remarkable. Certainly, it was an admission of an improperly trained employee, but it didn't go to the issue of whether the women should have ever been allowed to fly without purchasing two seats. No company wants to touch an "hot buttons", like weight, for fear of negative publicity, period.

Airlines have objective standards for many things nowadays, number of carry-on pieces, size of bags, what's permitted in your carry-on, and yes sometimes size and weight. I say size because a read an article recently about a man who was told that he couldn't fly because he was too tall. Then, there're the other things, subjective criteria, that can present problems or simply be a nuisance, a drunk passenger, a "stinky" passenger, crying babies, loud talking, people passing gas, too much cologne or perfume, etc. In these cases, IF people complain, I have found that the airlines tries to move the person who's complaining to a more desirable seat. Drunk passengers have been removed from planes. The matter of hygiene is more difficult as everyone has a different level of "tolerance", and acceptable levels of hygiene differ among people and countries.

This is my take on airlines and it has nothing to do with bashing anyone.

So you are basically blaming others for being obese. Nice.

And you'd have to be a naive moron to go into fast food places and actually think you'd get something relatively healthy. Same goes for many sit down restaurants as well(they drown their salads in fatty dressings)

My advice is to start eating lean meats or raw food and definitely start eating these things called fruits & vegetables. They're quite healthy.;)

Also, STOP eating out at restaurants.

Why don't the airlines respond to this need with a row of 1.5 times the normal width seats? Instead of three seats in that row put in two and charge accordingly. I am sure the morbidly obese people who don't fit in regular seats (not saying fat there is a difference)would appreciate the comfort and not being embarrassed. Buyng two seats is too much but a wider one would probably be nice.

As a thinner person I can relate to people being in my space on planes. They just assume you aren't going to use it all so they can spill over without asking. I detest when people are too close and breathing heavy on you in your air space. :(

At least you aren't paying your "tax dollars" for people's obesity related healthcare >.> yet...but gdmn, cosign.

I wrote up a load of fat-stuff, but eh, it belongs in an obesity thread really.

Anyway, long story short, if I have to leave a couple of pairs of shoes at home or pay overweight charges on my bags, then I don't see why the same shouldn't apply to people. If you're taking up the weight allowance for more than one person, you should have to pay for two seats(and that extra seat should remain empty). On the plus side, if you're paying for two seats then you should be allowed twice the luggage ;D

&this isn't a story, she got free stuff and an apology.

I just love that thinner women like you and JC are commenting so we don't have to hear this bs woman bashing. And btw we do pay for obesity in this country with higher insurance premiums. The amount that's spent on obesity in this country is astronomical again people remember 100 million people are obese thats a 100 million people who are developing chronic diseases because of this. I agree with DB that certain companies and government policies share in the reason that this happens but ultimately it comes down to not only what you put in your body but how much of it you put in and how much exercise you get. It may sound harsh but I hate seeing so many obese people walking around like its ok to be obese. I truly just wish others would be more responsible with their life, we only get one shot at thi life thing.

Why you think you are fat beats me , i have seen your pic and you probably are in between slim and slightly thick but you seem to take it a bit too personal when fat issues are said. You are 47 years old and quite frankly i think you have maintained your weight and looks well so calm down lippy:cool:

as much as i appreciate the compliment...i don't like it when men speak in a derogatory manner about women...especially when there are just as many fat men as there are women...it would appear talking about fat women is the favorite topic on the forum...people come in all shapes and sizes...people love who they love...do i wanna share my seat no but i would snuggle into three seats with dreaming, whiks and myself any day of the week...we are all probably about the same size...don't let that avi fool you...lippy has a huge ass...

i don't understand why the men here feel the need to be this way...especially when many of these lovely women pump up their egos anytime they want or need it...feeling a little blue...come to the forum and we will boost your ego...flirt with you...get you all puffed up and send you out into the world again...you come back tell us some bitch was awful to you...we will help you burn her at the stake...brush you off and start all over again

what do the women here get...swift kick in the ass most of the time:confused:why?

btw, lippy is not 47 until next month...kicking and screaming the whole way

Woman what forum are you on? No man EVER singles out any of the women and say anything mean to them. We may mention obesity and the women internalize that shit. IMO the men on this forum pump you fuckers up daily. DB just posted a pick and dudes were quick to compliment so what are you talking about?

A thick white woman with a huge ass lovely :smt112. Anyway to a more serious note i personally don't have a problem with big women if you check the men's thread i have commented in black bulls bbw thread positively and negatively and the positively on the thick women's thread. I just have issues with big women who are too insecure, it feeds into the stereotype that fat girls have no self esteem. I actually find a big woman who is very confident a very sexy trait.
