Boxer Bernard Hopkins, a Philadelphia Eagles fan, has ripped Donovan McNabb before. On Tuesday, he took his apparent disdain for the quarterback to another level.

Hopkins, in Philadelphia for his May 21 fight against Jean Pascal, invited reporters to watch him train Tuesday and decided to take additional verbal jabs at McNabb and even implied that the Washington Redskins quarterback wasn't black enough.

"Forget this," Hopkins said, according to the Philadelphia Daily News, and pointed to his own skin. "He's got a suntan. That's all."

According to Hopkins, McNabb had a privileged upbringing in Chicago and isn't as tough as himself, current Eagles quarterback Michael Vick or Cincinnati Bengals receiver Terrell Owens, who famously had a falling out with McNabb before being released by Philadelphia in 2006. Hopkins said Tuesday that McNabb and Owens essentially didn't speak the same language.

"T.O. got [into] the boardroom and saw the way they talked to McNabb. Coming from where he [came from] -- that's strange to some white people, when a black man speaks," Hopkins said, according to the Daily News. He said Owens "[wasn't] used to this language. [He's] used to speaking up.' "

Hopkins said that is why McNabb felt a sense of betrayal when he was traded by the Eagles to the Redskins before last season.

"Why do you think McNabb felt he was betrayed? Because McNabb is the guy in the house, while everybody else is on the field. He's the one who got the extra coat. The extra servings. 'You're our boy,' " Hopkins said, according to the Daily News, and patted a member of the media on the back to illustrate his point. "He thought he was one of them."

When contacted by the Daily News, McNabb's publicist said the quarterback would not have a comment.

While he questioned McNabb's mettle, Hopkins didn't take a shot at McNabb's integrity.

"Nice guy. I'd trust him around my kids," Hopkins said, according to the Daily News.

Sound to me like this cat just trying to get some publicity for his whack ass fight.

Where the heck did this come from, I think Hopkins took too many 1-2 combos to the dome.

I know boxing needs the hype but damn this is scraping the bottom of the barrel for pub.

This reminds me of the bum ass relative you don't want coming to the family barbecue, because they'll inevitably bring 3 of their homeboys, eat up the food and drink the beer, while remaining ignorant of why its in poor taste to behave like that. SMDH indeed.

Terrell Owens is a great person to get a intelligent observation and opinion from......

Doesn't T.O. have 2 kids that he hardly sees? If Benard Hopkins thinks people should "act black", no wonder he respects his opinion.

LOL, its this same "actin black, keepin it real shit" that got too many young black folks so messed up today in their value systems about family, education and how to behave like a respectable human being.

Don't want to be too white-bread, talking all proper and shit, gettin that education and raising a good family with no baby mama drama. SMDH at this craziness out here today in the community.

isnt McNabb the same guy who said it was because he was black, that he was treated such harshly by the media? how can you question the blackness of a man, that put his neck on the line by confronting the issue of race like that?

but on side note, to me, acting black is running something. to me there a two sets of uncle toms: the condoleeza rice/colin powells, who are modern-day house slaves and the to/jay-zs of the world who are put on the white-owned media specifically to perform the fool and put up as a success so black youth desire to emulate them. i don't where mcnabb fits, if any at all, of those two positions. but i do know, to did his best hapy nigga, by criticising every minority qb he worked with, but never said a peep about the white ones.

condi and colin ? what ? you can probably make an half ass argument about condi but colin ...hell to the naw there bro.

I assure you...if prez bush was in office now and asked you to be part of his cabinet you would more than likely say hell yes. "that shit would be a stone call you are hired instantly" stone on your resume.

can you imagine having G. Bush as a reference. are you kidding me ? hell-to- the-fuck yeah I will join his cabinet. Hell I bet your momma and mine that once he left office ( my job will be gone with him) and It was on my resume that I was on his cabinet and I applied for the NAACP those mofo will hire me.

    no doubt in my mind

    You're lunching.

Not only did T.O rip Garcia publicly and in print, but when the Ravens acquired T.O in a trade with the Niners, he told anyone who could print it that he didn't want to catch for (the White) Boller- he wanted to catch for a Black QB. He had a few choice words about Romo, too.

But forget the stuff about football that you're clueless about.....this 'Unlce Tom" foolery that you're spitting...Exactly what kind of Black man passes muster occupation-wise to you, to be non-'coon' emulation worthy? Let's see, we have

    - a top ranked Black Colonel - fail.

    - a first Black female Secretary of State - fail.

    - a half a billion dollar earning AND OWNING worldly popular Rapper - fail

    - a (then) 25 yr old Black QB who became the highest paid player PERIOD (even higher than darling white boys -GB Favre and Cowboy Bledsoe) in NFL HISTORY by snapping up a 10yr $115 million contract extension WITH a guaranteed 20 mil bonus....but to you....he miiight just fall somewhere in your big fat fail coon meterdome.

if you have no principle, then you would join......colin lied about the wmd's, he lied about vietnam, and has been an apologist for the civil liberty-violating, racist, torturing, cia-outing administration, and one of the worst in history and he was there for a lot of it..

Uncle Tom is a derogatory term for a person of color who is overly sub-serviant with authority, or a black person who behaves in a subservient manner to white people.[1][2] -from wiki

just so there is no misconceptions......
on to- he performed the fool all the time for white reporters and the media. he went in on mcnabb harder than anyone else.....he never argued with the white qb's like that, not young , romo or anyone else, i wonder why? mcnabb, every minute was being criticised for his qb abilities, so of course media whore to will jump to be in si by bashing him.

on to condi and colin- we should be excited because they get positions in one of the most racist administrations ever(katrinia's aftermath, the slashing of funding to the civil rights division of the justice department, etc.) and not speaking up once?
colin got his generalship, with little experience, and underqualified, over better candidates, solely on his cover-up of the my lai massacre, to continue america's unholy war against a peaceful ppl. not to mention his involvement in the bombing of another group of peaceful ppl, this time in grenada.
from there he got a promotion, lied some more, then got a job with reagan, told him bomb here, bomb there. papa bush remembered all the great lying collie did, and said you can head joint cheifs. then son always copying his father, said come here powie be my secretary of state.

condi-this is a woman who compared the iraq war to the civil rights movement, who justified the right to bear arms on the grounds that it protected her from the kkk, not realizing the kkk were allowed to have guns too.
this passage from wiki explains itself-
During the violent days of the Civil Rights Movement, Reverend Rice armed himself and kept guard over the house while Condoleezza practiced the piano inside. According to J.L. Chestnut, Reverend Rice called local civil rights leader Fred Shuttlesworth and his followers "uneducated, misguided Negroes."[91][92] Also, Reverend Rice instilled in his daughter and students that black people would have to prove themselves worthy of advancement, and would simply have to be "twice as good" to overcome injustices built into the system.[93] Rice said “My parents were very strategic, I was going to be so well prepared, and I was going to do all of these things that were revered in white society so well, that I would be armored somehow from racism. I would be able to confront white society on its own terms.”[94] While the Rices supported the goals of the civil rights movement, they did not agree with the idea of putting their child in harm's way.[90]
this is a good article i think you should read-
    http://www.blackcommentator.com/26/26_commentary.html

rapper i suppose is jay-z? the mysogynistic lyrics, gawky jewelry, half naked women, calling women a bitch(black women), and making millions for white record execs and promoting violence and stereotypical view of the black community for a white suburban audience.
yeah, nothing uncle tom-ish about that.

and the qb, i'm guessing is michael vick? all i will say is when someone gives you 10 mill, it means they will make 100 mill off of you.....it doesn't make you an uncle tom, but it is what it is...

you see no insults, just a well-written post, i look foward to your reply...

You are on point as usually but let me take a moment to clarify.

Collin Powell - First black United States Secretary of State
    - First black U.S. Army Forces Command (USACOM) Commander
    - First Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staf
    - First and ONLY black on the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
    - The only high ranking official in the Bush Adminstration to critisize the Katrina response
    - Listed as one of the 100 Greatest African Americans.
    - Called the only voice of dissent in the Bush administration.

    Condoleezza Rice
    - first African-American woman secretary of state
    - first African-American woman National Security Advisor
    - Ph.D. in political science from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver.
    - Professor of political science Stanford University
    - Appeared four times on the Time 100, Time magazine's list of the world's 100 most influential people. Only nine people in the world have been considered enduring enough to have made the list so frequently.
    - In 2004 and 2005, she was ranked as the most powerful woman in the world by Forbes magazine and number two in 2006

.....the The Black Commentator magazine said rice "didn't know how to talk black"

But you know us black folk...they did not agree with the mainstream black so that can be nothing more than Uncle Toms. I will say this (and I know this is not a political topic) ain't it strange that the party that is supposed to hate us found us in more higher level positions within government, than the party that is supposed to love us?

Even more than the first *cough* unofficial black president and the first REAL black president.

    I'm just saying.
