.....Women in Infantry (not to be confused with women in combat) (google infantry if need be) ....ye or ney?
If they are qualified and desire to do so sure. Israeli women do it and the Israeli service people are kick ass.
naw there is an hygiene issue there for real. then again if they went into combat they can use that stanky nappy as a weapon
why not? gender isn't an illness...you of all ppl should be glad for professional ppl who are willing to commit themselves to the responsibility of it.....and not wear headphones. if they can do everything else, i'm sure they can handle one on one combat. the greatest strength of the us military is they are better trained than anyone else. it's not like al-queada has randy couture and chun li.
Interesting. I don't think many women are physically ready for the demands of infantry; however, if they can meet the standards, i say why not. My concern is that the military would reduced the standards to allow for women infantry men. For example one of the requirements to graduate the police academy was to to be able to drag a 200lbs man 100feet. Simulating being able to drag a man from something like a burning car. ...for women it was 125lbs. Now I don't know how many 125lbs men there are.....but this is an example of decreasing the standard. To be in recon you had to score a 270 (max 100 points in each event) on the APFT. The women's APFT is not the same standards as the male. 20 Mile road march with 80lbs on your back, buckles men far bigger than me....I simply don't think MOST women could do this. HOWEVER.......if there is one that can, I feel she should be allowed too.
. I still say if a woman can pass the same standards....let her do it. But so far there has only been 1 woman to pass the British Marine Corps ..no women to pass the Combat Course (by the same standards as male) in Israel. Israel does have a combat unit tha tis 70% female...but its NEVER seen actually front line fighting is only a border patrol unit.
