Gotta give the racist dude a credit tho. He tells us he does not like us right up front with out sugar coating it. I prefer that than some under table racism BS. This idiot got guts and will tell you upfront. Welcome to AmeriKKKa, and this is the country our brothers and sisters die fighting for, amazing.
The racist guy would say some shit like that almost immediately after the pretty white girl he’s sitting next to gives the black guy a compliment. I didn’t know the bald guy was gonna get all philosophical though, somebody shoulda played a violin for him while he was talking.
I saw this TV show. My sister was one of the panelists on one of the episodes. The show is called Without Prejudice and it's on the Game Show Network. Basically, you have people who judge based on little information and there are five rounds and the contestants simply give out a little more information about themselves and in the final round, one person will win $50,000. Regarding this episode, the Polynesian dude actually voted for the black guy at the end mainly because he managed to get past the black part and saw that he's going places in his life. That's mainly due to the constituent (black man) who berated him (and rightfully so) about expressing ignorance.
I am shocked that it was allowed to air, to be honest. Is he a regular panelist on the show and was he fired? Fair play to everyone calling him on it, in particular the guy who said "Some things are better left unsaid, rather than have people really realise what an idiot you are." I actually feel really bad for him in particular, he's obviously really offended and I'm almost glad the other guy said his crap to allow this other guy to make the statements he has. Seriously, he should get the sack and be made accountable for his actions, that's a disgusting way to talk, especially given that he's on tv and therefore to some extent a role-model for viewers. I'm pretty outraged and shocked that it aired. For anyone who saw it, did it run with any kind of editing/disclaimer/etc? What's the name of the tv show and was it recent(if anyone knows)? I really want to follow up on this and see the consequences.
Lmao so true. At this point I don't try to change anyone's mind with words. Actions are all that count. You don't believe black people are capable of accomplishing great things? Fine just sit back and enjoy the show because you're about to see some shit.
I'd rather him be upfront and honest and I'm happy that they aired it. We as a people need to stop lying so much. Pretending racism doesn't exist and forcing people to be quiet about it when they secretly feel that way isn't doing anyone any good. The only way we can heal this shit is talking about it without fair of persecution.
That's a good point and I do think that it's a good thing with everyone else's reactions being aired too, but I firmly believe that that kind of opinion shouldn't have a voice. Obviously, I've grown up in a slightly different culture than you have, but anyone being that outrightly racist(or prejudiced in any other way, homophobic, etc) to that extent on a tv show over here would be fired without question and it's doubtful the show would air. We do have different 'rules' for television here though and all potentially offensive content is shown after the watershed(basically after 9pm). I dunno, I'm a little torn. I absolutely do not think that man should be able to make racist comments on a main stream tv show, but I do think it's important not to pretend this kind of thing doesn't happen and with the other participants giving their opinions too, I feel it's a little more balanced. If it was a tv show here, this is how I feel things would have been different: The episode would not have got past ofcom screening. The man making the racist comments would have been fired and it would have been publicly stated in the press, with quotes of what he said, etc. and the producers would have re-filmed it with another person in his place. Alternatively, if it had gone out live, there would have been uproar and complaints streaming in, this would be a national news-worthy thing. I am not saying that either way is right, but I do think it's interesting and I think America's freedom of speech laws play into it a bit, along with the fact that tv show producers here would fear losing viewers/gaining negative press and as I mentioned above, would likely not be allowed to air a show with such racist viewpoints(obviously, were it a show on racism, it would be viewed differently, but this appears to be your average dinnertime, family viewing, light-hearted kind of show).
I too am surprised they aired it. I do get the upfront and honest part and no censorship BLAH, BLAH...I hope the asshole gets recognized and called out on his disgusting behavior.
Censorship doesn't prevent anything all it does is mask it and like I said it's better for everything to be on the table so we can fix the problem. Lying about it and pretending it doesn't happen serves who exactly?
the black guy didnt need to speak on it. the white folks would have done it well. it was beneath him to do so. he also looked a little bitchy like I road with you and had good convo ect.... its like " I sucked your dick and now you are treating me like this."
I disagree...I don't think they knew what to say...the white dude, I'm not even sure where the heck he was coming from................besides, "Whitey" don't need to save us. (Unless its Chuck Norris of Bruce Willis)
