Fighting Off Advances

The average life expectancy of an American is a little above 70 years old last time I checked... To believe someone will stay solely committed to you for all that time is laughable.

You know, I heard of many men proclaim that once you are Married (or atleast in a relationship) you have to fight off droves of women... I don't fully believe that. I believe these men are putting themselves in these situations like Tiger himself right now. Looking forward to the next thread where you break down and try to make a excuse up for it.

 

Obviously, being female, I've never dealt with this as a man with a woman who refuses to take a "No thanks", but in my experience getting nasty or breaking all contact does work, being nice and trying to keep it friendly does not.

However, if this really is a major problem for you, consider your own behaviour. A lot of people are incredibly flirty in general and will often make more flirty jokes and remarks once they're committed because it's 'safe' as they're not interested, only playing, etc. I wonder if you're giving off signals you aren't intending to.

When I see what others from golfer Tiger Woods to Senator John Edwards have done to the women in their personal lives I have to sit back and wonder what in the hell were they thinking to bring so much pain to themselves and their families. Lessons of life are learned by myself. Unfortunately, many who want to blame others for their own problems should for once stare in a mirror at themselves.

 

One reason why so many try could be as pointed out before wanting what you can't have,the forbidden fruit.
With females there's another aspect playing in though sometimes.Many females are extremely competitive and "getting with another woman's man" seems to give some an ego boost.They think they must have something the man's significant other or wife doesn't have for him to mess with her.That isn't necessarily the case though.Some who take such an opportunity often just think 2 are better than 1.
Some are also just plain selfish and don't care that they may wreck a relationship,marriage or entire family if the guy has any kids with his girlfriend/wife. Maybe they don't consider that if the guy so easily leaves his partner or family for them that the same could happen to them as soon as another woman comes by trying to get with him.
This isn't race or skin color related but generally talking.

It is annoying when a clear No isn't taken serious and someone just keeps going and trying. In that case it's best to avoid the person whenever possible.
