Look people I'm saying Michelle Obama isn't an accomplished woman I'm just saying in terms of role models for my unborn daughter she wouldn't be one of them. Hilary Clinton yes because she moved on to Senator of NY and then Secretary of State. I'm not impressed by a position you get just because if who you're married to sorry. Being first lady is a position of circumstance not something you earn kind of like royalty and you guys know how I feel about that. Get my point now.

 

We do not know his GPA, lol. In all seriousness, she was his mentor when he was in law school, she aint a dummy.

But currently her being first lady holds little weight with me as far as being a role model. Again position of circumstance to me. I would have said the same thing about Hilary 12 years ago

 

Okay, Andrae...you're really missing the whole point on so many levels. And what's worse, you're belittling her as though she's just "there". Come on, if you're THAT addle-brained for not realizing that she's just as important and is actually an independent woman as well, then the real issue here is YOU.

• No one is kissing her ass because of her position. She's earning her credits and not because she's married to the President. You still think she's some clingy bimbo who sits on her ass all day.
• The fact that she's well educated (which you're ignoring blatantly) and capable of being her own person shows that she has earned her spot with respect.
• She's advocating her own agenda, not on the behalf of her hubby either. Remember, she's been encouraging President Obama to quit smoking altogether.
• Being the First Lady is more than being married to someone. She represents the country, just as much as her hubby is the commander in chief. Denying that only makes you sound like a damn fool.

All I'm saying here is, it's really insulting that you're comparing her to a Royal Family lineage, which she clearly isn't. She's earning her respect through hard work and reaching out to people her own way. And it's not based on the green light given by her hubby. Know why? She's her own person.

 

Ok one more time since you want to act slow. I agree she's a well accomplished woman no doubt it but getting a position as first lady is comparable to a royal because you didn't have to earn it. It's not based on your merrit. It's hard to respect a title or a position that can be held by a harvard grad the same way it can be held by a waitress because it has everything to do with the spouse who holds the title of President. She earned her way to her previous positions and more power to her but in this case not so much. I equate her to princess Diana or any other debutant who went to all the right schools and layer ended up with a title that she didn't have to earn. Yeah she does great charity work but she's just a face she has a staff to do the actual work.
Not my idea of a role model sorry.

 

1. Funny how you call someone slow when in fact, you're REALLY having a hard time understanding the difference between someone who's worked her way to get to where she is today and it had nothing to do with her being married to someone. Even before her husband announced his candidacy, she still held an independent attitude.

2. It's silly how you call her personal agendas "charity work". That, in of itself, sounds incredibly stupid on your part. Let me dumb it down for you: The President can't do EVERYTHING and don't concentrate on EVERYTHING. This is where his Vice-President, and his First Lady comes in. Relating to health issues, that's not charity work. That's keeping the future adults from being out of shape, and overall, maintain productivity. It's not the same as going in every country doing "good deeds" to gain recognition. That's not her mission.

3. By your busted ass logic, role models don't exists. How did I come to that conclusion? Your last statement gave it away.
