I was watching an all Black TV station late the other night and caught this, which I had never heard of before. Anyone else seen it? It's truly bizarre, lol. I'm Through with White Girls (The Inevitable Undoing of Jay Brooks) (2007) Trailer... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0829202/
I've seen part of that before, the way it was directed looked like something Tyler Perry would make. So of course I passed.
Not really Tyler Perry-like. Its actually kind of campy. There's a point where he tries to date an Asian chick and the scene had me chuckling. They're dining and chatting, but he's visualizing her as all the Asian stereotypes as she is him as the Mandingo ones. The woman he ends up with in the end is a strange bird, for sure. It's almost heartwarming.
I saw this movie! It was awesome. I couldn't remember the name though. Thanks for reminding me. after seeing this, I went digging for more movies from the director. It is really hard to find her movies though since she is not well known.
I should email the link to the first African American man I ever dated. When I broke it off with him he quoted similar words. "That's it you white women are all the same. I am never dating another white chick again.. You are all bitches." So that I don't look like a big meanie I will just say I had to stop dating him because he started calling me ten times a day asking me what I was doing, who tried to talk to me today, how many men had asked me out and if I didnt return his calls within minutes he would freak out.... It was just too much work because he couldn't relax when I wasn't in his sites. None the less he contacted me about six months after asking for another chance... I said,,,, fat chance.....
See I do a once a day call. If I don't hear a thing from you after a certain amount of days, that means the relationship is over and I might as well move along.
I think that is perfect, call once and hopefully she responds. I would always call someone back when I was free. This guy would call even though he knew I was booked out with appointments at my job. He didn't care, he felt he was more important then me earning money.
Yea, I don't do indie girls. She is pretty and nice though. along with the other things you said about her.
I am not smashing women but I was very surprised to see it written and directed by women. Generally, women write and direct about women stuff and men do the same about men stuff but this was very well done.
Oh wow! You reminded me of a man I was dating who said the same thing to me - and 3 other females! Yeah, he was juggling FOUR of us, and when we found out via that inevitable "annoymous' "you dont know me, but do you know ___" email from a woman he'd scorned who then hacked his email.....Well, that was his exact response to us when we all confronted him!
smh,,,,, they always get caught,,, the stories us women can tell,,, lol..... I want to go and look up this show now.......... Might give me a few laughs...
Well to be fair, I'm not surprised its a female, considering she does stereotype the man as an asshole commitment phobe to both B & W women, while the woman buys him a car and lands him a job break, lol.
yep...wasn't the first email I had gotten like that since being online. (usually it was either the wife or g/f emailing after finding he was on a dating site, etc) And remember, the movie isn't serious even remotely- it's very campy. ;0
Oh goodnes, yes I have had at least two emails from wives wondering how I know their husband.... I always spill the beans and tell them where to find their husbands profile on a dating site.... Wrong or Not, if I was married I would hope someone would let me know the truth.
Mee too, lmao. I'll be damned if I cover for an asshole, let alone want to be with him knowing what a creep he actually is. And I always say I'd want to be told, too! The only thing is, sometimes you get that hack-savvy, crazy ex, posing as current....who won't let him be with anyone else. I feel for the guy then, but hey, it's not my problem. Men - contact me when you're COMPLETELY single of wives and/or nutcases, is my motto.
