The same? Why would what I think change because my fellow warriors are doing it.

Actually told me students today. "No celebrations.....none"

...and I only had to say it once.

What I am saying is that people are celebrating the fact that Bin Laden is dead for different reasons.

100% of the people there aren't doing it because they're idiots. Why paint everyone there with the same brush/stereotype, if you know what I mean?

You are going to have to give something other than "SOME".....you will never be able to have a conscious debate with me if your only retort is "you can't say all"

CELEBRATING the death of a man; stripper parties, wrapping in the National Ensign...doing the very same thing we decry...is shame. Its grotesque and sickening. Do you not think the people who celebrated the death of Americans on 9/11 did so for different reasons? Why paint them with the same brush/stereotype?

    Its a silly argument man.

I have chastised few ppl at work for cheering for the carnival type of atmosphere Americans were creating in parts of the country, pouring on to the streets of NY or rushing to cheer and rallying in front of the white house. But I have got no problem with anyone pumping their fist in air and saying “yes, we got the bastard”. If Bin Laden is actually the right guy that orchestrated the 9/11 massacre of innocent 3000 lives then fuck him and the camel that he rode on and I am glad he got a bullet right on his face.
Anyhoo, this victory is not engineered by democrats or republicans, the victory belongs to the servicemen and women of this country. And the war with them ain’t over, it just began.

It is the power and significance that he yields, and everyone knows about the negativity that he has within his persona. He's more than just a common person who's been killed. If you've watched Bad Boys II, when it debuted in the Summer of 2003, at the end of the movie, Johnny Tapia (a multimillionaire drug lord in Miami) was shot in the head by Martin Laurence at a US naval base in Cuba. By your logic, we shouldn't celebrate, but that's exactly what they did (Martin Laurence and Will Smith) did at the end of the movie.

Also, Karl Rove completely disagrees with you.

    Osama had not power
    Osama was insignificant
Osama was irrelevant....his death will change nothing.
    ...

    Bad Boys II?....Seriously dude? Seriously?

See once again you display idiotic flawed logic. The people who celebrated the death of INNOCENT Americans on 9/11 are not right at all because they were innocent bystanders that died.

Bin Laden, on the otherhand, was pure evil who was responsible for killing muslims as well. Way different situations. There is absolutely nothing wrong with celebrating someone evil dying (whether it be Osama, a rapist, child molester, murderer or all of the above) One less evil person in the world imo

I think at this point, we'll just have to agree to disagree

The principle its self is still the same, Ymra. They are people who are very elusive and hold a high amount of wealth and power, and use it to inflict negativity and tension on everyone else.

IMO, the right to celebrate should not have been avoided. They were right to do so.

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." --Martin Luther King, Jr

He said that way before Osama Bin Laden came into the picture. If King was still alive, what do you think he would say, about this particular person?

Dude, let it go - You somehow think Bin Laden is somehow worse than so many other examples of evil people that ML King saw, such as Hitler etc???
Puhlease, that was his philosophy and Bin Laden would not have changed that. If you knew anything about ML King, you would know that.

Quoting silly movies don't prove anything and you wont convince anyone that think this carnival atmosphere is inappropriate.

A couple of things you need to learn: the meaning of rhetorical question and thinking people that don't agree with you are wrong and that you somehow can change their minds.

You have stated your opinion, we have stated ours, stop trying to change our opinion - cuz it ain't gonna happen.

Ok, well what do you think a bi-partisan solution is to this? You either have all or nothing. People could either celebrate or just say "Hey, Bin Laden's dead." Not everyone would agree on what's the better thing to do.

How bout we all just agree to disagree and be done with this shit!!!

Because opinions are like assholes everybody's got one!!!

I agree. This is something (similar to other things that have been discussed on here), where we don't have a consensus. People differ about how to react to Bin Laden's death. All we can do is talk about it.

I think we can all agree to disagree with what you just said and continue this quarrel.
