Since many of you replied to my post I'm going to reply all once to you guys. First off I'm not advocating any conspiracy theories but being an adult in this day age won't allow me to just simply believe anything the government says even if the words are coming from some hip cool cat that participates in distracting Americans rather than informing and educating them. It just seems far too unlikely that if someone was hiding out in poverty stricken country wouldn't turn over Bin Laden for the 50 mill. All you need is an Internet connection or "visit" family that does. I get they don't have as much tech here but let me tell you this for supposed billions they spent on just trying to find him they could have hired mercs who could have easily gotten the job done because they have no rules of engagement to follow. Again people 10 years to find the most wanted man in the world with resources of the most powerful country on earth? Something don't smell right especially when it only took weeks to Saadam Hussein a man who had body doubles and a fucking army. Brace yourselves boys and girls the shit storm is coming. Soon we'll be forced to choose between what's right and what's easy.
Truth. Didn't Benazir Bhutto said Bin laden was hiding in some specific location in Pakistain in 2007 before they blew her head off? BTW, it took a little more than few weeks to capture Saadam. We went to war in March '03, and he was captured in December '03, I think.
This part of the story has ended, but the whole war and debacle isn't over though. We have to keep our eyes and ears peeled for any sudden attacks from this point forth, so we all need to stay on high alert.
Can't believe dude had the guts to be living in a sprawling compound in an urban area of Pakistan, wow. So much for his 40 virgins in heaven, more like 40 sluts in hell for that bastard.
:smt023co sign...it may have been a million dollar compound but there was no tv and no phones...more than likely no technology to tap into or spy on...they found him by tracking the courier that was delivering tapes...i highly doubt that pakistan has a "dog the bounty hunter"...
Why? Because I don't take the word of government as gospel. Use your common sense. Ten years for the most wanted fugitive ever to be found? Again he had a 50 million dollar bounty on his head. Dude there are people who give up their own mothers for that kind of money. The truth is he needed medical supplies because he was on dialysis. In a place like Pakistan shit like that would be noticable. Keep drinking the kool aid homegirl.
killing Osama does nothing anyone that's read Corum's literature on counter insurgency and terrorism, knows that killing one leader just produces another in these organizations, as evidenced with the Israelis and Hezbollah among others.:smt022
the million dollar question is why were we even looking for saadam? was that supposed to somehow appease the american people? you have to take into consideration the network that bin laden orchestrated across several countries...these al qaeda groups are hiding in plain site...you could be living next door to one and not know it...you could be riding the bus/train every day with one or many and not know it...they have infiltrated society like a cancer that grows like weeds... we can celebrate for one night but this is not over by a long shot...we should be on high alert...they will retaliate
1. I am not 100 % conviced that the mastermind behind 9/11 is only Osama. We all heard and read about the possibilities of other involvement. 2. Osama was already a dead man, the fucker was suffering from End stage renal failure on fucken dialysis, so he has already groomed his deputies to take over, so killing him is symbolic and just going to help raise Obama's poll, does not do that much for everyday Joe American. 3. Buried at the sea, GTFO, his body should have been flown over placed in NYC on display at least the families of 9/11 victims could see it and have some sort of closure. Right, buried at the sea, and I am the fucken pope, fukka outta here. 4. Get our fucken troops out of Iraq and limit our involvement in Libya.
Thing is, they're right. You can't believe every damn thing you hear on the news. Remember when our news and government was trying to connect the dots between Saddam and Laden and saying Iraq had WMDs (where are they)? This shit sounds like misinformation to me....probably calling attention to this while some real important shit can be less focused on....if the govt. has done it before, they can easily do it again. I don't care if he's buried at sea, I want them to scoop up his body parts and lay them on a table and I want to see that he's toast, in whatever grotesque condition it might be.
If you look for intrigue you will always find it. Unless and until Bin Laden appears in Las Vegas along with Elvis and Tupac, he's dead in my book. My first thought after his death was announced was what they would do with the body. But, as has been stated today in the news, they didn't want him to be memorialized, so the burial at sea was a good idea. The fact that the huge bounty on his head produced nothing makes sense in a country where you, your wife and kids could be beheaded for any perceived assistance to the U.S. In spite of the huge bounty on Pablo Escabar, and far better intelligence, it took a long time to bring him to justice. The billionaire drug lord in Mexico isn't being taken down, and they know his identity. Despite the technology and resources of the U.S., there have been historical failed attempts, the assassination of Castro and the rescue of the Iran hostages most notably. It's also true that we have the names of others who will likely rise to fill the leadership position of Bin Laden. Let's see how long it takes to capture or kill them.
Don't get me wrong I don't trust politicians as far as you can thrown them. I think they are a bunch of lowdown, dirty, double talking, slimy weasels and part of the system of control and influence by special interests that hover around the corridors of the political system in this nation. I think what it showed is that you have to hunt these kind of individuals down relentlessly. Let them know that when they are responsible for a terrorist act, they will get no rest and always be paranoid about their head being blown off one day, even 10 or 20 years later. The best thing is bin Laden knew he was looking at his last seconds of life and time was up for him on this Earth and he had to reconcile that to himself before death.
^^^^ This. Despite how awesome we claim our intelligence officers are and our military, they make mistakes. Watch "Valkyrie" about our failed attempt to kill Hitler. It happens. I'm sick of reading about all of these conspiracy theories. Give me a break, people!
Or watch the movie "Munich" where it shows how long it took for the Israeli operatives to track down and kill those responsible for the deaths of the Olympic athletes at the Munich games. It takes a long time. As for Saddam, I believe we got pretty lucky in finding him as quickly as we did. It doesn't happen like that ever.
