I love how you guys keep saying it's not a state affair when its being publicized like it is a state affair. Can we stop pretending this is a close intimate moment with them and 2 billion of their closest friends watching lol

 

No, I would venture to say a lot of the time the racism is all in peoples' heads.

There is protocol to follow - Europeans Royalty love that stuff and will follow that to the end.
Just because everybody and their mother wants their nose in this wedding does not make it a State affair - Besides, its not the Royal family doing publicity, hello - Just because all media outlets are there does not make it a state affair. Get real.

The Royalties play a hard hierarchy and someone that is not on the throne or heir to the throne is not and will never be a State affair, they better "know their place". What the outside world makes of it does not make it a State affair.

True historically speaking the Brits were more racist than the French but that has changed. Anyhoo, I don't think the Bamas not being invited has to do with race. And I doubt BO cares either, he is got a bigger fish to fry than to attend some circus.

I watched it all today and it was fantastic, I loved the RAF fly past with the Hurricanes and spitfires while they were standing on the Balcony it was a great image.

I think Duchess Kate is a positive addition to the Royal family, whereas the Queen looked like a real miserable cow and cut short the Balcony appearance way to quickly in my opinion.
Bit peeved about Kates title being Duchess it was well within the power of the Queen to lay the Princess title on her.

 

She is 86 years old of course she will look like a miserable cow

 

didn't watch. they seem like great people. i do have a bone to pick so to speak. charles could be bypassed due to the divorce, aka edward and wallace simpson(no relation to homer). Like mr. fan I THOUGHT it might be racist at first, but then upon reading blair and brown wer not invited, I thought maybe for a new generation, the press secretaries are making up new rules....of course my prime minister elect edna kenney was not invited. big fing surprise LOL. but I thought mary mcclesse might be invited since she invited the queen over in 2009..not lol.. anyway it was a beautiful day for william and kate and I hope a proud day for the brits

I liked the fact that the sun wasn't out and shining. IMO everything about the ceremony looked better without sunlight.
