Jerry Seinfeld: Royal Wedding is "an absurd circus act."

I'm not complimenting them. Just telling the truth. Jerry's just a comedian. I liked his show (although the repeats have made me hate it now), but I wouldn't say he was all that special. Especially after he prostituted himself on some Greater Building Society ads here in Australia. Ewww.
The current royal wedding is annoying as hell, yes, and I loathe all the press its getting (and dread the telecast which will be on every fucking station down here :smt011), but it's still something that a lot of people love and we in the commonwealth countries see it as a part of our culture. Regardless of what those outside the commonwealth think.

Jerry, and you, are entitled to your opinions. I disagree with them, mostly, but it's all cool.

    Wow....just wow..

William has volunteered for Red Cross and treatment hospitals, along with donating some of his money to charities that support and help the homeless.

What the hell have you done?

and this is where the derisiveness of the affair comes from, lack of/dismal of monarchy and most likely in Seinfeld's case, the unabashed goyishness of the event.

The queen is the still the head of state of a number of commonwealths, and she also has a functionary through the governor generals, so I don't consider the commonwealths completely autonomous, despite their individual constitutions.

Ofcourse Denz's anglophobia is disturbing, and while I could give a rats ass, I don't dismiss the importance of bloodlines or people who have remained in power for centuries.

Evil people will bow down to each other in an effort to hold power, control, and further corrupt our world. You are not supposed to bow down to a person because it is an act of evil.

lmao you are gonna stream the fuckin thing on your phone while at work?!?!:smt043 Thats something that I wouldnt admit

And btw a lot of people care about Seinfeld's "absurd attempts at comedy". His show was one of the most watched shows of all time and his stand up shows continue to sell out across the nation.

At least someone gets it. The royal family serves no purpose and they represent everything wrong with the world.

    Self imposed importantance
    Unearned entitlement
Talentless boobs who have a legacy built on the backs of slaves and riches dripping with the blood of innocent women and children.
The dummies who buy into their specialness make me sick. Fuck any culture that supports that shit. Same goes for reality tv watching Americans. We have far more important things to focus on.

You know what, Nico? For once, I agree with you. William has maintained his position in the RAF to run dangerous search and rescue missions as a helicopter pilot. He doesn't have to do this- he does it because he chooses to do it. After his wedding, he's made arrangements for he and Kate to live near the base so he can continue to do this work- it's practically unheard of for a Royal to actually perform his duties. Charles was supposedly a pilot, but he never flew a damn plane.

Both Princes have worked hard to continue the work their mother did, and I give them a lot of credit. Even though they aren't *our* Royals, doesn't mean we can't learn something from time. Not to mention that for one of the first times in history the Royal Wedding is not being paid for by the people, with the exception of the security detail. All of the other expenses are being paid for by the Royal family with a small contribution from the Middleton family. They are all aware of the current economic times, and you can't fault them for having a wedding that works for their incomes and status.

I'm sorry, Iggy is on ignore, all I heard was 'Blah blah blah, I'm a jackass' blowing through the WWBM trees.

And MF, I'm surprised at the level of disdain you have for the royal family. Are you jealous? I mean, they've had money for generations, so they don't work 100 hours a week for it...hit a nerve? You mad that you have to work for what they've had in their coffers for centuries? :p

The Princes do a lot of really great, charitable work. I'd rather pay attention to them than what Lindsay Lohan is up to. C'mon.

You see the thing is though MrF, that is their history and their nation.

Their country is rooted in being founded on the monarchic system of ancient royal lineage.

I can't knock them for respecting that in their history. It may not be kosher to you nor I but it has a role in their cultural, political and social history.

Now we could get into what the British Empire and colonialism has meant to the world but that is another box of worms. :)

If British taxpayers want to foot the bill for their monarchy in 2011, hey knock themselves out. Isn't going to affect us here in America.

LOL, I think we all do, I switch the channel whenever I hear that name mentioned, along with Charlie Sheen. :D

From what I understand, British taxpayers are paying for the security, which is something they were pretty much OK with them considering the thousands of jobs this wedding created. The Royal Family and the Middletons are paying for the wedding. I think this does speak to the fact that they are aware that the world is in economic crisis, and we cannot fault them for organizing and paying for a wedding that they are actually able to afford.

Oh gosh, if I hear 'WINNING' one more time, someone is going to get punched in the teeth. lol
