well stated. coolness is really being confident in oneself and maintaining a sense of balance in turbulent times and making wise decisions.

basically being cool is being a wise leader and can rock the sheets like a mofo. that is what a woman wants

Thanks for the rep, whoever did it! Hey, that was an interesting article. I never knew a lot of these signs. Now, I wonder if the women on the forum can verify the article from their own personal experience?

What exactly is nerdy? can someone define nerdy to me? If nerdy means being studious and concentrating on your books instead of hustling on the street then its good to be that nerd but if its acting like steve urkel that aint cool so nerdy comes in various ways, some is really about getting your priorities right and some is just creepy. Any studious guys who has his shit together should not have a problem pulling pretty women but if you are akward socially, not matter how brilliant you are it would be a bit difficult to bag a hot young woman since she still has options.

I think you hit the nail on the head, Appiah. It's more about the socially awkward stuff than it has to do with the "acting white" silliness. I think that the issue of being 'nerdy' mostly stems from being insecure and not at home in your own skin. When I was young, I wanted to be taller, popular, etc. Because I wasn't, I learned to get into other things that were less popular with kids my age. It was partially about being bookish (to a fault, not simply doing well in school), but before I knew it, I had developed my own interests and personality and had ceased wanting to be like the other kids in the neighborhood (I admit it was easier being at an accelerated school, so I wasn't constantly comparing myself to the 'jock' kids).

The confidence to be myself came as a result of growing into my own sense of self. And then, lo and behold, I ended up confident in my own abilities and liking myself (even though I didn't play football, hockey or basketball). So I guess I'm living proof that things get better, LOL.

I'm going to get nerdy here, so bear with me all. This video shows it. :)

Nothing like a little anime to clarify matters...

I'm not ashamed of it. Plus, I like the music played to the video.

Me neither. I'll watch Ninja Scroll, Death Note or Ghost In The Shell anytime. Hell, the plots are usually better than any of the so-called 'reality' tv out there.

I really love those animes. Death Note really tickled my fancy too. Sadly after L's death, the series didn't really measure up to my satisfaction until the end of the series.
