My parents are black and my mom is quite light skinned. No one has ever questioned them being my parent. I would be offended as the child or as the parent. Hmm..I trying to think of the chances of a black man having a biologically blond/blues child lol....genetics are crazy.

I have been on both ends of this example. I can remember taking an ex's young white child to a store alone. I can recall one of my white ex's accompanying my bi-racial, daughter to bathroom, or even on trips to meet me. In neither situation did either of us experience any problems.

"He could also have been her step father or simply dating her mother. Based on your logic all adults seen in public with children of a different skin color should be subject to random ID checks by waiters, bus drivers, and whoever. This isn't a liberal/conservative issue, its a free country issue...and by the way most little girls are molested by family members, not grown men who would bring a girl of a different race into a crowded restaurant."

best comment on that video, some people are dumb, automatically assume the child is kidnapped etc if with a different race parent, because people dont kidnap children the same colour as them

Especially in this country. If a pretty little white girl like her went missing the whole county would shut down followed by dozens of Amber alerts.

When my son was little a few random idiots would ask whose kid he was or if he was adopted. Now that he's older, I've had a few people thinking I'm some dirty old woman with some young black guy. I even had a woman at a restaurant tell me I should be ashamed of myself for dating someone so young...stupid bitch. If these idiots paid any attention, they'd see how much my son favors me.

That's fricking crazy. How the hell do you keep your cool?

It's not easy to keep my cool, because, as I'm sure you've noticed, I have a mouth on me, but most of the time I manage to be calm depending on the situation. The woman in the restaurant followed me to the ladies room to give me her indignant two cents after which I told her "He's my son, you stupid bitch." & I walked away, leaving her standing there with her mouth hanging open. Honestly, I wanted to slap her in the mouth.

Nobody has never came out and said anything to me but people do stare when they see me with my son.

    What exactly is the problem?

Stereotyping or not he was only asking for the concern of the girl. What if the girl really had been kidnapped and he didn't ask, then she got killed or something?

Agree with both of the above comments.

That whole scenario was a little bit over the top IMO. Unless it's an all across the board ignorant & racist town or city, I don't think too many people would say much about a black man with a white child in a public place like that waiter did.

I used to have the two sons of a guy I dated with me a lot. Mostly I would get stares. They hugged me and hung on me a lot. They would go places with me or I would pick them up for him and drive them places until he got off work. The older one was very close to me. He is a very shy, super sweet and polite boy. He called me second mom.

I picked him up from practice one night and before we met his dad I suggested we stop at Subway. As we went in the door he asked me if I would order first. I did and then the clerk tried to cut me off. I pointed to him and said him too, he's with me. I can't describe the look on her face. It made me mad. She rolled her eyes and acted like it was a chore to wait on him. I just stared at her the whole time she made his sandwich til she had burn marks in the side of her head.

When we got to the car I looked at him and he looked like he wanted to cry and he could tell I was mad. He said don't worry about it. It's ok. I know I shouldn't have said this to him but, I said I wanted to slap that look right off her face. We both busted out laughing.

They funny part is his mom and I have similar looks and he looks like he is a black version of me. So I am sure like others, she thought he was mine.

    that's corny

    dont be offended tho

sometimes people stare because they simply aren't used to something

doesn't automatically mean they don't approve

once that becomes commonplace, the stares will fade and become reserved for people that are either against mixed babies or that lived under a rock for the past 10 years.

come on now, he can clearly see the girl isint in any bad state, he saw a black man with a little white girl and thought he could have a good time tryin to mess with him because he didnt like it, people like him only want to see colour and this is why they fuck up

why dont people like this have "concern for the children" if they see a child real upset with a parent by themselfs? that child could be killed or something later

nah its all about colour, and assholes who dont like seeing a different race person with a child of their race

No worries, Mikey. I've dealt with many small minded fools like her that I've wanted to bitch slap, but I only gave in once in a situation not long after my son was born (I was 20). These days I have more self control.

Seriously, do you actually spend anytime in the real world and not on the computer living on the internet? :smt017
