it is time for men to get custody of the kids

We had a woman shoot her teenage daugther and son recently....why....because they were mouthy! Picked up her son at practice, shot him in the car in the garage...went into the house, upstairs where her daughter was doing her homework and shot her in the back of the head....both great students, athletes and very well liked by their peers....father in Afghanistan...had a suicide letter saying why she killed them, but sat there and drank coffee overnight til her parents who were worried and called the police. They found her on her back porch, totally spaced out...lived in a upscale neighborhood, big house, pool, no one had a clue. And now she wants to claim insanity, even though she told the police exactly how she did it and why...hopefully there will be justice....they are seeking the death penalty, so this is why the defense is trying to file insanity! Sad...

 

Yea I saw that. Well she looked insane when they arrested her. I mean honestly she shouldn't be let back into society although I am against the death penalty.

The fact that no one would have imagined something like that occurring to that kind of family and the way she went about it helps the insanity plea. Doesn't seem like there was much premeditation there, which is what would need to be proven for a murder 1 death penalty case. However, it is Florida....

 

Actually, she had wrote down exactly what she was going to do....that is what is sad and she admitted to the whole thing, why she did it, over and over she said because they were too mouthy...she deserves to rot in jail...IMO.

 

The courts should never assume that the mother is best fit to raise the children just because she is the mother. Believe it or not, there are a lot of unstable mothers here in America. Alcoholics, Prosac, Bipolar, prostitutes, sluts bringing men into the house and having sex, bad/nasty attitudes, inner hatred fo the father to the point they preach hatred of him to the chidren, etc., etc. etc. Yet, the courts tend to overlook all of these issues and support a bad mother rather than support a good father.

 

yeah....but it has always been a tradition and a way of thinking that women are best suited for the kids. even in the biblical days. there are guys that should never be able to stick their tallywacker in anybody and father a child but there are a slew of men that would give their left arm to be fathers

drug abusers

Many children are raised by single mothers by default. Also many single mothers do not have the emotional support ie..family members willing to lend a hand etc. A lot of men, not on this thread, but in the general population. seem disinterested in raising children on a full time basis.

Male or female, raising children as a single parent is hard work. I watch my daughter and my boyfriend both do it. There are also great rewards .

As for the original topic, many men are more competant than women to be single parents. I am not referring to drug abuse, neglect issues etc. It has to do with making the sacrifices required of a single parent.

 

If a woman does not have the resources to raise a child...she shouldn't have a child.

What should she do?? You act like you just solved a problem by that blanket statement. Every child who cannot be afforded or emotionally supported should just be aborted?? There won't be many births in that case.

 

how about make better choices; take responsibility for the choices they make. How about before she allows a man to drop sperm in side her, he proves himself worth.

..there is not such thing as 100% so this would not be and end to it all, but you would find far less cases than we do not. We do now is....look at the woman who made a bad choice in the man she chose to lay with and we say "awww poor her"....really its POOR CHILD..

I agree with MOST of what you are saying. However, some men appear to prove themselves and then change. I do agree with the poor child aspect of your arguement.

I feel that fathers do have rights and a say. However, it is ultimately up to women about bringing children into the world. What do you propose a preganant woman does if the father decides not to be around?

 

Indeed.....indeed. This is another big issue. Because the courts WILL support child support, but will not support visitation.

Oh shit...the great qualifier...SOME...

You might FEEL that rights have some rights and a say, but your FEELING isn't reality. With the exception of extreme cases generally father's don't have SHIT to say, regardless of your personal "FEELINGS"

Of course women have to do the best they can do "after" the child is born, but before that child is conceived women need to make wiser choices in the men they sleep with.

 

They both make a mistake but only the woman is held accountable??

 

In order for men to do what the title implies they have to be men again in this country.
