Ashley Judd criticizes hip hop music/culture

There's the problem in a handbasket as far as current state of rap. Any and everything now is all geared towards making money for the companies and not about quality product.

 

There are some great corporate acts like The Roots and Kanye West but like anything corporate it turns art to shit. Its not a coincidence that books like Twilight and pop artist like Rebecca Black are the most talked about things right now.

 

The grown crack babies and their offspring are their main consumers. I prefer 1970s-1988...to me that's when it was raw and untainted by the powers that be.

 

Don't get it twisted fam. Teenage to mid 20 something white women are their main constumers and that's real.

 

Man I LOVE rap, I am just not going to pretend its anything other than what it is. I LOVE RAP hip/hop.....love it. I listen to mostly rock....and dance/techno, but I love hip hop.

...but I don't understand this knee jerk response of rap when we all know its pathetic, counter productive...and how women (period) listen to 99.9% of it is far far beyond me.

....and Arnold did get protested because of the violent content of his movies.

 

Saw Judd on Tavis Smiley last night. She said she regrets the wording of her text on Hip-Hop and Rap music.

 

People have been saying this for YEARS....but I've never seen any proof, or even any anecdotal information to support this at all.

Cuz....there are many who think like you, that's proof? This idea that whites are the "reason" for hip hop has been pushed along since the early 80s. Here is reality.

Record companies sell what the Negro is buying. Black folk don't want to be taught, they wants shit dumbed down. The fantasy life of the thug culture where everyone is flying G - 15 1/2 jes, everyone is a baller, everyone is pushing the latest whip.

Black folks are not the only ones who want things dumbed down for them nowadays in America. It's everybody. Period. Pretty much everyone in America now wants shit handed to them with no work or effort. The mindset of entitlement we have in this country plays a major role. Does the current Bling Bling bullshit Rap & Hip Hop contribute to the problem as a whole? Sure it does, but Rap & Hip Hop can't be said to be the primary factor.

 

I don't blame hip-hop I blame corporate bureaucrats but that's just me.
