The issue, by and large Mike is that people prefer not to accept that they are products of millions upon millions of years of extensive evolutionary growth. These very individuals would prefer mysticism & spirituality. In other words, believe they are of a divine nature. This could contribute to the "God Complex".

Also, regarding racism, there's a certain psychological and neurological part of the brain where it controls judgment. The frontal lobe is what triggers that part of the brain and psyche. Humans are an ignorant bunch and prefer to cling to what's simple. If they see something new, their ignorance generally is triggered without thought. So, they feel the need to label something based on external sight and observation and collectively lump people altogether.

This is just part of the answer. I have others to share in the long run.

Most white Americans know about evolution theory, when they're comparing a BM to an ape/chimp, they are letting you know that they have evolved way further than you and you are unevolved, in fact, a devolved species. You have to understand the connotations.

Thanks man. I don't know alot, but I do have an idea. lol They say that race doesn't exist. Atleast not biologically. Race is just a social construct despite us having genetic differences. I geuss sort of like a class thing. It also depends how you define race. If you ask a biologist and a sociologist what race is then they might give two different answers.

You're right. I don't let it bother though. They are willing say anything to makes themselves feel superior. Ironically, by saying that they make themselves look unevolved. There still ignorant. We are the same species despite genetic and cultural differences.

Now that I think about it, I can see why they said that, more specfically centuries ago. Africans were more primitive and didn't have the same technology as the Europeans, but that doesn't make it right. It's not only us blacks they degraded. They degraded Latinos, Asians, and especially Native Americans. Europeans invaded the Americas, raped and killed them and stole their land. It's looks like it was the whites that were the savages.

Raise your hand of you have an African American Studies degree from the University of Maryland's College of Behavioral and Social Sciences with a concentration in Cultural and Social Analysis (with a minor in Asian Studies)
:smt088 (I said that all in one breath woooooo)

    *raises hand*

damn...looks like I'm the only one.

preeeeeecheet the book suggestion, but I do believe I have pretty good handle on the subject.

I digress....fo somebody think I'm the smartest guy in the room. CLEARLY I'm not.

    ...my point is this.

Given the disrespect that was leveled at George Bush, it seems now hypocritical (racist or otherwise) for folk to act in shock that the same visceral degrading disrespect is being directed towards Barrack Obama. Not here of course, but I actually spoke about that disrespect. Many around me dismissed it as just a Soldier talking; defending his boss. I have no great love for Bush, but I do know that insults towards Bush (Monkey, baboon, chimp, and the list goes on and on) is far more than what President Obama is having to contend with. Hell Clinton went through far more as well.

...and it because of his race he is shielded from much of it. Bush supporters did something that Obama's supporters have not been able to do. Ignore the shit and keep moving. Everyone is waiting their turn to cry victim.

So when it was directed toward Bush it was ummm...just jokes?

The same likeness towards Obama is automatically racist?

Imma need a few of yall to think deeper.

One or two would be nice.

What woe is us? Calling out racism isn't woe is us it's identifying and defining a problem.
When they called Bush a chimp it was because his actions were of someone simple and slow and he favors a chimp especially with some of his mannerisms.
Calling Obama a chimp is clear racial propoganda, I don't know how you can't see that unless you are trying to just be funny and stir up shit.

No one is crying about that shit, Ymra. But it's still offensive.

The GOP claims they are a political party that's all about INCLUSION, and welcomes all the monkey ass, big-lip flapping, nigger baboons to vote a straight Republican ticket at the polls.

SO what if they wanna compare Obama to an ape?? Suck it up. Just jokes.:smt023

BTW, you're full of it on this issue, Ymra.

If your CO called you a monkey with gun, I bet you'd piss yourself from laughing so hard.

Or if your kid(s??) came home from school and said the teacher gave him/her a banana with a note attached that said 'feeding time at the zoo', you'd really spend a couple minutes breaking down the harmless social satire in such a gesture??

    Man get real.

Nothing ever changed in this country because muthafuckas bit their tongue and kept their mouths closed.

And nobody respects a man who allows himself to be disrespected.:smt108

ALso, I didn't hear it on a nonstop loop about Bush being compared to a monkey. A few times, yeah. But on the daily?? Hell naw.

But hey if you're one of those Negroes who thinks racism is a figment of a self-victimizing minority, more power to you.

Is it the biggest obstacle affecting Black folk today?? NO.

    Does it still exist?? YES.

Is it racist for a GOP fundraiser to compare the POTUS to an ape with the caption ' the reason there's no birth certificate'??

Work that shit out for yourself.:butthead:

Dude we all know the GOP is not a party of inclusion, why this keeps coming as a shock to people of color is beyond me....and where am I suggesting we keep out mouths shut? Shit maybe I did write that someplace and forgot I wrote it. Lemma go look......

    nope...didn't write it.

Its has nothing to do with my CO

...or cocksucker; nothing to do with my children.

Nor did I suggest racism is a figment of my imagination.

What I said, and am saying. Folk sat idiolly by when disrespect was leveed at President Bush, for us to now stand up and scream "disrespect" is foolish and a bit silly.

If you are going to stand against a wrong, you stand against all wrongs regardless if its again your friend or your enemy.
