Meanwhile in your average hood, Shenae is gettin' the crap beat out of her by Tyrone with no press coverage.

I hate to sound like some heartless tinman, but it's hard for me to feel sorry for a precious group of anointed victims when equally heinous crimes suffered by fellow citizens barely get a press clipping from the media.

Wow, so your empathy is based on whether you believe that others are treated with preference, rather than your own humanity?

Whenever I witness tragedy, whether personally or through the media, I can't help but be affected. I think, that person, Becky or not, could be my sister, niece, cousin or friend. That's all I need to extend a hand and lend comfort or support, to help as I would want someone else to do for those that I love.

You can choose to interpret my point that way, but my point is clear ... I feel bad for the woman, absolutely. But I - as do many people - feel that enough is enough of the missing white woman syndrome.

 NO one "asks" to be murdered, kidnapped or any crime commited be against them. All beings should be respected. Anyone who goes missing should get the media attention regardless of skin color, sadly it isn't that way. :(

You should stop posting ignorant comments, hot88. People are beginning to question your intelligence.

I actually understand what you are saying in off the wall way. Black women go missing, in the same circumstances as white women...

...but you have to have someone they consider "good looking" to make it notational news. And "good looking" in America is white....or ummm.....Halley Berry-esque, what white folks called "mixed-race" with bushy curly hair.

I think that some of you are overly sensitive about this. Now I'm not here to argue. I just want to say that from what I see, there are black women reported missing just as there are white women. I don't know why some of you are on this Becky missing thing because I see a lot of black women and children listed and reported missing. Take for instance Walmart. I see many pictures of black women and children that are missing. So what is the big deal here? Please don't get mad at me for asking. I already got some people mad at me on another thread here at the moment. I'm just trying to understanding your grounds for feeling this way.

How many of those black(hell, any missing minority women) will get national coverage? I remember one high profiled missing minority case from last summer that was on Nancy grace, but if didn't carry on for two semesters. And no, I'm not mad.

Okay, I wasn't aware that the emphasis was mainly on the Nancy Grace show and shows like it. In that case, you are right. But this is not like regular news. Nancy Gray (which I rarely watch) is basically an entertainment type show that intrigues many people, much like Forensic Files and City Confidential intrigues me. If Nancy were to show many black women abusing or killing their kids or being killed then disposed of by their spouses, it would bring a lot of complaints from black people...would it not? Look at how many black men hate Oprah. I appreciate you not being mad. I believe this is my first time seeing you although your stats definitely show you to be one of the grand daddies of this forum.:D

i completely agree...everyone deserves to be important no matter their race or economic background...it makes me sad to know that there may be a level of reaction or concern based on the person's color or wealth:(

He's a white guy that's against IR dating pretending to be a black guy so he can bash white women and at the same time poke fun at black men by acting like an ignorant brother, which is how he views black men.
