“There are all kinds of fools in the world, but the worst kind of fool is an educated fool. Educated fools walk around convinced that they know something about everything, but in truth they don’t know nothing about anything.” My Grandmother.

I miss my Grandmother. She was nothing but wisdom for me growing up.

I understand that; I really miss my Granny (great-grandmother). She was wise, feisty & strong, & I like to think I got those qualities from her.

I feel you. I use to always find it fascinating when my grandmother would tell stories of some of the things she saw and went through back when she was younger and it helped me through some of the ignorant racial things I saw and went through growing up. It cracks me up when some of these younger people today complain about some of the silly shit that happens to them and it's nowhere near anything like what most older Black folks back then experienced.

It makes you appreciate them a lot more knowing what they've been through doesn't it? It's good that she was able to share her experiences with you. I think it's an awesome blessing to benefit from their experiences; you're right, some of the youngsters have no idea & don't appreciate how much worse things were back then.

The stories my granny used to tell me made me want to write about her life, but she passed away before I got the chance.
