Oh, and by the way, I'm new here. xD I'm Black/Portuguese so I'm not sure if I count as a complete black male, but anyway...

Ares - I'm much more of a punk/hardcore fan than metal, but I'll give you guys a listen.

 

Not bad, Ares. I liked it. I was surprised because there's a bit of an industrial feel to the music, especially the drumming, that I wasn't expecting. I thought it would be more in the Slayer vein. There's an almost orchestral feel to a couple of the samples I heard on iTunes.

I like metal bands like Motorhead, Slipknot, Fozzy, but I am more of an alternative rock and punk guy myself.

 

I been a big fan of Iron Maiden for years. Thin Lizzy tells some good stories in their songs with Phil Lynott rippin' up on the bass. Here's one of their songs 'Emerald', enjoy.

I've never heard of your band before, but the best of luck, man. I'm familiar with melodic death metal, but I'm usually into the originators (At the Gates, later Carcass). And I've never really been into metalcore/deathcore.

A lot of people in general don't have a good understanding of how metal works because there's so many subgenres. I won't go into detail but I'll post (if discussion goes into detail then I'll explain further):

I always thought Systen Of A Down had a good sound. I never knew what that was? Hard rock? Metal? Rage-like punk? Never could figure it out, but I like that sound.
