I think they should stick to the original racial make-up, it's Norse mythology, so keep it nordic.

 

I will agree only if it's specific to the mythology that Heimdall is a personification of a human being. But if he is like the ice giants of Jotunheim or something, he is not bound by the specific phenotype of a Nordic guy because many of the immortals are beings, not people in the narrow sense. If, however, he's supposed to be like Thor's cousin or something, like Loki and Balder the Brave, then he would need to be Nordic. And again, this is a comic book, not a faithful representation of the Norse legend. The mythical Thor of legend wasn't hanging around with the Incredible Hulk and fighting Galactus.

That's what I'm saying, it should be all nordic, I think it's a matter of respect, I'm sure some people would be pissed off if they made a movie about African Mythology and cast non-African actors. Norse mythology, Nordic actors...

 

But that's the point the movie is based on a comicbook, the Marvel Universe not Norse Mythology so they're well within their rights to change shit.
