depends Running or cardio in general mixed in with lifting, is actually recommended by some trainers. It's a good way to sneak in cardio without doing it for 30 minutes straight. You can do a few different exercises, then do 10 minutes of cardio, then go back to lifting weights, then cardio for 10 again and so forth. On the flip side, I've seen people say skip running or anything like that, on a leg-development day, when you're banging out 3 or 4 weight exercises just for the legs alone. If you ever done squats, and then went running, you would understand why they use that philosophy. It's like you're running on jello, lol. in closing, i would say go for some running unless you're hammering out your legs to failure with weights.
In highschool and my first year of college I ran track an cross country... ....now, I'm a good 3 mile runner for time and putting 15 miles on the Nikes during a week.
