You read Our Kind of People. Really interesting book on colorism amongst dark skin and light skin blacks in "blue" blood society
What's funny to me is after 16 years of dating ww exclusively for the most part I don't even notice the different tones amongst black people. It has no meaning to me unless certain throw out dark skin jokes.

if the mother is black? sounds like she has a problem with ww to the point she wants to complecate stuff like "as long as the mother is black of the biracial girl"
its childish, why dosent she just come out and say that a ww with a biracial daughter or son is not good enough or watever

But those same women want their biracial daughters with WM.

    Talk about hating BM.

I think in the next 100 years or so it white people will be having babies that looked mixed (like the case if South Africa) just like now 2 med to dark skin parents can have a light skin child. I think there is a heavy influx of biracial not only black/white but Hispanic/white and Asian/white marrying whites these days. With this those genes will come back out when 2 white people with recent admixture come together. I often wonder how this will change the perceptions of race and skin color when this becomes a common occurrence.

I've read it. The "blue vein societies" is another issue within the discourse on colorism, most aligned with black politics in the aggregate anyway and have assimilated into larger Black culture (some into White society).

She don't like ww at all and its so freaking obvious. Unless ofcourse they worship her and her opinions. Once she made a post b/c she was pissed off her brother was in college and him and his girlfriend had broke up and apparently the girl was trash and she was black. Then he had these white girls coming over his house cooking him dinner and doing his laundry and she was pissed these white girls was doing this and afraid that he would stop dating bw b/c he had a bad experience and date ww.

She constantly makes post about IR's and her disapproval and black men that date ww.

    That's absurd.

and besides that Judith Stone story, what other cases can you mention in South Africa?

    Sandra Laing
Why is that absurd? I don't know who Judith Stone is but I'm talking about Sandra Laing. Her white parents had 2 out 3 children with mixed phenotype.

It wasn't absurd when African Americans b/c anywhere from white to black in color b/c the white men (mostly) raping bw so why would be absurd for the same thing to happen to the genetics of white people when multiracial people start reproducing with with whites at heavy levels?

Judith Stone wrote the book about Sandra Laing, without getting into that case, it's an isolated one.

2/3 of White Americans (66% of the population) have small/trace percentages of SSA ancestry, in a 100 years for there to be a change in what constitutes a white phenotype at the current rate of IR is absurd, especially given that there are 4 times as many White people than there are Black. The change in white status will be driven by socially/economic forces.

You dropped some ill knowledge right there bro. Love it, hypocrisy at its finest.

The old, worn out black man is trying to move up in status by marrying a trophy white woman. I love how you broke it down for its inherit stupidity when examined in detail. The rambling idiots have usually crossed the Rubicon and so don't even realize the foolhardiness of such statements.

    Reps for your post. :)

But it is interesting to see how we discriminate based on the same thing others discriminate against us for. You would think people would know better especially when you're of the oppressed class. I've even heard of gays who are racist against blacks. It truly makes you think are you fucking kidding me? Really?

That is why I am so individually driven in my choices and don't spend my time having any concern about the insecurities of others, especially on a subject like race.

There is not a darn thing that can stop me from liking white women, not a single thing on this earth. I have the world of respect for my mother, a black woman, but if she was to say she doesn't like me dating white women, it would be the first and last time she said it to me because I would make it clear to her in no uncertain terms what I think about that. Not that my mom would ever say that to me in that she knows my personality based on how she raised me.

Well, the BV's had money, many were free, free men of color, or were given land/money by the master after slavery. The had their own distinct culture, but it became antithetical at a certain point given race relations in the U.S.

In the Langston Hughes bio "The Big Sea" he talks about the airs of this negro elite in Washington D.C and how they put on more than the White elite he meet in his travels in Europe and the U.S. Very Funny.
Of course the remnants of that world are still around, "oaks bluff, jack and jill, the Harold Ford Jrs...

Colorism or not, the economic divide between black people is still strong, some say it's creating oppositional cultures/politics

Statistics I've looked at say 30% not 66% and the % averages at only like 1-2% compared to among AA's being 15%-20% on average with many more than that and like what 80% that do have white ancestry. (maybe more I'm trying to remember without looking back at the numbers) I said 100yrs or so. It looks like it will eventually happen that's all I'm saying and I wonder what impact that will play. You can get 4-5 generations in 100 yrs. The rate of white children being born in the US on a decline. White children are not the majority. It can happen. There is people out here right now that have a biracial black/white parent and a white parent with white phenotype. Say the mix with white and produce another child with a white phenotype and then that child reproduces with another white person who has admixture just as they do. Bam there is a chance they can produce a child whom we wouldn't classify as a white phenotype today. The more biracial people mixing with white people the chances of this occurring is going up. Shoot there is already white people today that even though their white and have white parents have you looking at them thinking they got something else in them. As it becomes more common there will be bigger differences than just features that make you look even harder.

Look to Hispanic countries and you will see this already occurs. Two very light parents that would be classified as white in their country sometimes have children alot darker.

Yeah I actually read an article today about employers not hiring people with criminal records whether its a misdemeanor or a felony. So a large population of people(mostly African Americans) have another obstacle to economic balance. It really does feel like a conspiracy to keep us down. So now if you convicted for shop lifting at 19 you can't find work at 35? Such bullshit.

Dude at this point in your life I'm sure your mom knows the deal and wouldn't come at you. The only thing my mom was worried about was someone trying to kill me for it and this was in the late 90s
