A black family or an Interracial family?

So it's already posted about the the mixed race family black man, white woman, and their teenage daughter having a cross burned in their yard. So some of the media said it was a black family totally leaving out the fact this was a family were a black man is married to a white woman. While others news reports have them actually saying the reason this happened to them was b/c they are an IR family.

Ok so on another site I'm arguing with these women (mostly black women) about this issue. They are saying the consider them a black family. WTF and are denying the fact that white supremacist and even reguar racist folk hate bm with ww more so than they hate black people in general. They are denying the fact that this couple was target specifically b/c this black man has a white wife and claim they were simply targeted b/c the husband is a black man and it would of happend even if the wife was black. Now I know that black families have crosses burned on their front lawn but come on. Who in here thinks that the real reason this happend is not the fact this black man had a white wife? Do you consider interracial families a black family or do you consider them an interracial family?

What really ticks me off is the same women will be quick to say the don't want their black sons marrying white women b/c they believe in black families. Then they will use this excuse that white men don't like seeing bm with ww so they feel their sons safety is estate for one reason they don't want their black sons messing with white women. WTF. But now suddenly it's still a black family even with a white wife and now the ww isn't a cause for this racist act this family had to endure. Wow so what do u all think?

1. I think you should not spend your time arguing with those women.
2. I think it's likely that if the folks were White there would be no cross. In the absence of Whiteness and treatment there of, many Blacks will confer Black status upon said individuals; there is no "other" status, or in their thinking a middle one. Sound familiar.
3. You guys are probably all wrong and should be interrogating what a "race based family" is in the first place. As with all things racial in this country, race seems to confer more than just the physical description of those involved.

 

How about being a family. Instead of saying what racial background we identify with how about just identify with being a person. Race is so boring at this point.

it gets called different things in dfferent countrys i guess, it would of been called a mixed race family in the uk, always has done, in us ive noticed it gets called a mixed family or sometimes black

 

My point is why get into the argument at all. I understand race is a big motivating argument but those of us smart enough to know it doesn't matter why do we keep being pulled into these ridiculous conversations. Black family mixed family light family dark family all this shit does is make you seperate from your neighbor. Like I said its been done to death and this point I just like telling people worry about their family and I'll worry about mine.

i have also noticed that alot of bw with biracial sons dont want them to bring home a ww, also if the son is black, but its ok for the daughter mixed or black to bring home anyone, extremely hypocritical

It's beyond hypocrisy.

Black women in their intimate relationships with White men have understood the social power of having white/light children, particularly girls which can be with, or kept by White men as mistresses. Black men, not being of white male status, must go with Black women. The more twisted Black women believe these men should go with the darkest Black women.

This comes from the New Orleans/Creole/Quadroon ball type mentality. The Anne Rice book Feast of Saints has a similar dynamic with a creole family, but many Black women outside of creole culture seemingly had this mentality. The fact that it is evident today is highly disturbing.

Yes, many Black women would have conferred mixed status upon that family, simply because a White man is the head. This is just another example of the power dynamic issues that exist with relation to Black men in American society. A white man with his power can confer a higher status upon a Black woman by making a family, while a Black man is detrimental to a white woman in a family unit; and here come the hypocrisy, Black women knowing this will insist the Black man is the one trying to move up in status.

And yes i'd buy a copy. A lot of people would especially since you're a ww. You never hear ir dating from a ww perspective. Its always angry bw and wm and truthfully bm can't talk about this since we're the object of hate from the two other groups. Seriously you should do it.

There is one lady on this site that wont mind her black son marrying a biracial daughter if the mother is black but doesn't want him marrying a white woman's biracial child.

 

I've seen those too but what kills me is when I see ww with biracial sons and they don't want them with ww.

 

She wants to make sure the slave mentality is intact and there is a good chance she looks down on White women that marry Black men. If she as a Black woman wouldn't, why the hell would you as White woman do so?
