LOL. the feminist movement was for every woman and (F. Douglas white wife was in the feminist movement) the black women took too far by dissing bro's thinking it was the thang. the WW were like UUHHH naw we just trying to get equal pay and political power we aint throw dick under the bus
All too often WW project their experiences with WM in a PATRIARCHAL enviroment onto BW..it just doesn't work that way.
From the tone of her comments seemingly so. If black men had all this control over black women you wouldn't hear the complaints about black women's attitudes and such. I didn't realize that white men made rules and laws that offered wonderful benefits to black men, because they thought so highly of us, while subjugating black women. I must have missed that boat. A run down Irish or Italian immigrant fresh from his homeland with all his worldly possessions with him, a nobody where he came from could come to America, living in the tenements of New York City and be above a black man in society. Why, because he wasn't black.
Not many sisters would trade places with a BM in this society. However.. LOTS of WW would gladly trade with WM.
A sister tried to tell me that BM are part of the "good ol' boy's club" Of course....She was just trying to have the last word. You don't even have to go all the way back to Irish and Italian immigrants...look what's going down with illegal immigrants today.
For me its not even the who had it worse discourse but the idea that a black man was somehow benefiting in American society because he was a man. Newsflash, he wasn't seen as a man by racist society, a black man was a threat and had to be kept down in society no matter the cost. After the Civil War and the immediate benefits of Reconstruction, white Southern society made a conscious and concerted effort to ensure blacks were kept at the bottom of the social system by ensuring they had no economic system of which to grow from, coupled with lack of education, segregation, lack of employment, migration out of the Southern States to the slums of the Northern Cities. Separate but Unequal was the guiding motto. I mean I love white women but I know my black history, don't let folks get shit twisted. First African American millionaire - Madame C.J. Walker, a black woman Montgomery bus boycott prompted by - Rosa Parks, a black woman Brown vs Board of Education schoolkids - a black girl was the basis of the case in Topeka, Kansas Interracial Marriage test case (Loving vs Virginia) - a black woman and white man. All these significant historical events involved black women, whether by chance or on purpose as in the Rosa Parks case.
it is funny people think stupid shit that you lose your blackness if you date outside your race. You notice it is not IR until White people date black people.
LOL, I bet you she wasn't part of any men's club for darn sure, she likely love the ladies. Yeah us black men were so lucky in American history, look at all the wonderful benefits it brought us through the centuries. We were so lucky the white man saw us as his brother and equal partner and embraced the black man. When you encounter loonies like that its best to not even engage them, waste of time, there minds are already made up.
If anyone understand what it is to be shitted on, pissed on, looked down upon it is a black man in America throughout history. That can only make you stronger in your mindset and experience because you know no one is going to give shit to you, you have to go get it on your own accord. As Denzel said to the Indian father in Mississippi Masala, "I'm a black man born and raised in Mississippi, ain't a damn thing you can tell me about struggle"
Trust me I'll discuss with anyone black history and history in general, from the blackest of black to the whitest of white. I like white women, expose myself to different cultures, but never for a second am I naive about the world. Very true point you mention, a white woman can be dating an Asian, Latino, Indian, Native American man and its like whatever, but soon as it is a black men, heads turn and draw the most curiosity and looks in American society. The more those couples exist will force ignorant folks to realize it is here to stay.
