Uh Mike...I think the subject here is about abortion? Mixed marriages are not causing a weekly rate of 5,000 deaths...abortion is. In fact, it is my close associations with some of the finest strong outspoken black men that has open my eyes to a lot of things concernng the black community. They don't bite their tongue on issues like these, nor do they bury their heads in the sand and pretend it's not there and that everything is ok. You don't have to be black to be aware of some of the things that plague the black community. You just have to have thick skin on forums like this when bringing the subject of abortion up and it's devastating toll upon the black community.

I'll have to go with satyr and flaminghetero and the others on this one regarding the debate of black populations. Divert your attention to HERE and you will see that since the 1790s, the black-African American population has steadily been growing and will continue to rise. We were at 12.9% of the overall make-up and now we're 13.5% of the overall population. Given that, by 2050, it's projected that we could be around 25-28% of the overall population should this trend continues.

Regarding seeing black people killing each other in the media, it's purely overblown by the media simply because, crime with black communities, urban and elsewhere, have been at a steady decline across the US. However, FEAR of CRIME and news coverage relating to murder crimes continues to increase each and every year. And why is that? They want to make money and what better way to tap into the misguided hearts of America than to instill them and reinforce a certain aspect of fear - the black man.

In other words, it's VERY overblown and exaggerated and the information various sources give are generally off and misguided. So don't believe for a second that black people are going extinct. As what Bebe's Kids best put it...

Populations across the ethnic spectrum in the United States, save for Caucasians, have seen increases within the 2-10% range over the last few decades and growth is slow. So, yes, this is something to brag about when we're steadily increasing in overall populations. And for the record, ALL groups perform abortions and for more so than not, for legitimate reasons. So honestly, I don't see why you would fixate yourself on something very minor especially when it doesn't deter the overall population growth.
