Mr. F, you aren't going to win this one with Mike, lol. I agree with you. The median income of a FAMILY, or even an individual, has little to do with the reality of the college dating experience. Maybe, it's because Mike is trying to put the moves on too many of those teachers in his class as he alluded to in some other posts. Mike, I'm just joking with you. But, seriously, if college women, and community college at that, are looking for guys to have large amounts of disposable income, the guys, 1. wouldn't be in school 2. would be in jail for trafficking in drugs 3. they would be trust fund babies.

Thanks Bro. I appreciate it. In fact, since I only recently discovered, with Tami's help, how to see reps, I appreciate the reps given to me by everyone in the community. Thank you all!!

Ooops, now I understand what you meant Max, lol. But, the rest of what I said it still true, lol.

You're repping Tam because she said that in this thread we were all so focused on being "right" that we couldn't listen to what both sides had to say and that's not true at all. The men in this thread eloquently tried to explain to them why we believed money to be an imprtant factor in coupling and all they could do was keep hammering the point that since they and the women in their circle weren't like that. That I needed to move from shallow area because women everywhere weren't into money. They drew a line in the sand dividing women into two groups. Either gold diggers or independent women who didn't need a mans money ignoring the basic point that having a good job where you earn money is very attractive.
I just don't get why you're cosigning her horseshit when her Lippy DB FG and JC were completely false.

It's funny how that works, huh?? In all inter-personal relationships, the same kinds of things create conflict and friction, whether it's co-workers or bf/gf or spouses. Good communication skills are so important to success of all relationships, yes? :D

Its not that deep. Just a nice way to say thx for being cordial. Nothing was solved/won in this thread nor ever will be. You should have taken your own advice from the beginning.

The whole discussion just got off track (if it was ever even on track, lol). The women are no more guilty of being concerned about "proving" something than you are, Andrae. Basically, in the beginning it sounded like you were talking the same talk we've heard from you in the past about women being gold diggers. Even though it wasn't immediately apparent what you meant, I acknowledge that I finally understood that wasn't what you were referring to. Like I said, BOTH the men & the women had valid points, but for the most part BOTH the men & the women weren't getting where the other side was coming from. In other words, both sides assumed they knew where the other was coming from, so no one was listening to anyone else's POV. In other words, communication between both sides sucked the big one.

Like we said, no one wants a bum who lays on his ass & doesn't handle his business. Therefore it's true that it's important that a man be responsible & have the ability to handle his business. So, it makes sense that someone making a stable living is an attractive quality, because no one wants a lazy, irresponsible Jethro who wants a woman to be his mama.

Also being "past child rearing years", which is hilarious btw, has nothing to do with it. In today's society, it's not realistic to expect things to be the way they were in the 50's. In many cases, both parents work, many times from necessity & sometimes because it's what they want to do. That's why many women aren't necessarily looking for someone to provide for them; they want a partner to share that responsibility with so they can make it work together. I'm not some psycho feminist trying to prove I don't need a man or who wants to compete with a man about the size of my paycheck (or anything else for that matter). lol

    Thanks, Max. :smt080

Yeah, it's very true. Sadly, we're sometimes too hard-headed to keep that in mind when dealing with each other. Sometimes we have to learn the hard way if we even learn at all. ;)

Well, where I am right now, there isn't really a "college dating experience". It can't really happen if everyone commutes and has a part time job and has to worry about taking 12 to 16 credits all at once. It fundamentally doesn't work. That's what it's like here. I don't hate being at the CC, the dynamic of the place is not really one of a college, but more-so of a business.
