For love of god, I know you lke to be right, but at least live somewhere other than John Voight's backyard before you try to lump all of us into one, sad, vapid category.

 

Around here? The rule. People want to be with someone who wants them for the right reasons. Celebrities don't count. Real people just want happiness...gold digging hoes are not the type of people you marry...

 

Andrae what keeps you there if you think the people are shallow? It's not the only good place to live.

I'm not saying women are money hungry gold diggers who want a man to but them Prada and Fendi but financial security is very attractive to women. A man who has a good profession where he earns a lot of money is very attractive to women. Its primal it says he can support and protect me(the woman) and the children. I'm not saying women can't love a man who earns less but I am saying more often than not(see how I didn't say always. Please keep paying attention) are attracted to men who earn more. Its fact. I'll break it down further big house nice car for him means big house nice car for you. Even if you can provide it for yourself its still sexy to women when a man can do it.
The only thing I'll say about the north east is we're snobby about where you went to school and how you made your money ie finance medicine law opposed to owning a lawncare company.
Real people do want happiness and money may not buy happiness but it makes shit ton easier. And btw its not just people in NY or other major cities who believe this. Check out any of thos reality shows like Millionaire Match Maker or the Bachelor/Bachelorette those women come from all over the country and they wouldn't be there nor would they be so popular if the guy was some plumber or electrician making 50k a year.
Women are attracted to money the same way men are attracted to pretty faces and nice bodies. It is what is kid.

And before you and your pc brigade get your panties in a twist be honest. Do you think most women are how I described or more like you and the people you know?

 

What you and some of the women fail to realize is that its not that the women who date men with money only want money but money helps to make the overall package look that much better. Kind of like buying a new car and getting it fully loaded instead of basic. Sure you can survive on basic but fully loaded luxury just makes life easier and more fun. Heat warmed leather seats, sirius/xm radio, navigation system, and a remote starter with yearly roadside assistance may not be NEEDED but they sure do make life a little more enjoyable and easier to navigate.

 

For one my family and friends are here JC. Secondly NY maybe stressful but I do love living here. Great food, amazing culture, and a good job market for what I do and plan to do.
I know its a shallow place but I'm beginning to thing most places are.

 

You're absolutely right but I just want them to see my side of it. I get where they're coming from but they fail to understand just because their little clique doesn't care doesn't mean most women do. Its very basic.

 

No, I know many women only care about the wallet, just because they have no other ambitions than marry rich and become some kind of baby machines.. to some women that's success, to me that's just being a prostitute AND a surrogate mom at the same time

because i agree with you for a minute. on the weekend a gf of mine asked when i'd find myself a good man with security to look after me. she knows that i'll probably never own my own home and that i'll never be flushed with money and equates these things with happiness. she married a man who became rich and loved all things that came with that and has never understood my contentment with just being and not wanting or needing material things to enrich my life.

I don't need money to make me happy. I want people in my life that make me happy. I don't need a house in France and a private jet...I just want to spend time with the people I choose to have in my life. Hell, I wanna go tent camping. I want to sleep in sleeping bags and roast marshmallows and go trudging through the forest because it's simple and fun. I don't want a man who thinks the way to my heart is through a jewelry box, or a fancy car, or any of that shit. Frankly, I would be more impressed by a man who hid any wealth he had, rather than flaunt it. If a man has to flash his wallet or black mastercard around, it says more about him than anyone else.

 

very interesting that at least three threads currently are focused on women being money hungry...i equate this to men feeling anxiety about wealth...there seems to be a certain doom and gloom theme to if a man doesn't make enough money he will never get the woman he wants...

personally i think women have evolved beyond needing a man to provide for them...women are more self sufficient...i would go as far as saying that it is a complete turnoff when all a man thinks about is money

i can buy my own prada bags and shoes...i don't need a man to do that for me...i can contribute financially to our life together...i am looking for a partenership not to be owned...
