Brittney suggested that I make this thread. Basically what you do is post pictures of people (either guys or girls) who you think are ideal to pair yourselves with. They are not limited only to the active users on this forum, it could be people you know personally as well.

What's the fun in that? You're basically taking something that could be fruitful and turning it into another "I-want-to-fuck-Hayden-Panettiere/Morris-Chesnut" thread.
I'd have to choose celebs cause I wouldn't post people I know outside the board who I can see myself with.
Not to throw salt on this thread, but unlike with celebrities or people here from the forum, people that posters know offline that would be picked for pairing are basically an unknown quantity. So for anyone viewing the thread they more or less wouldn't get the what or the why of the pairing beyond looks. Just saying...
Actually celebrities are the least known quantity, because name and face recognition are not tantamount to having familiarity with anyone. A co-worker, neighbor, or your friend's sister are better candidates as their lives usually bear closer reflection to that of the average person. Another issue is that it's fucking lame and indicative of questionable self-esteem to pine for someone who A.) does not want to meet you. and B.) would not place you ahead of the legions of potential mates they can choose from if they did. Rather than posting a picture, you leave the person anonymous and simply describe the attributes that makes him/her so attractive.

I'm with you on this. Strikes me as odd to even want to do it...and also kind of creepy. Maybe it's just me. Frankly, the fun of the original thread was knowing both variables in the equation. It was cool to say 'I think Ra Ra and Tammy should get together.' because we knew it was all in fun and we were allowed to forget that people are married/attached for that purpose. You learn enough about people on here when they post for awhile to start to see who might be a good match - at least on some level. I enjoyed it. This thread annoys me because it's just 'Oh I think the guy in room 3B is hot, and I'm gonna pair myself with him! ha!'... meh. Not a bad idea, actually. However, as I said to Ra, the original thread was fun because we get a general sense of each other as we post, so it's fun to play 'matchmaker', even if people are attached.
Very true on the celebrities. I was looking at it from the POV that most people like to think that they are familiar with celebrities since they are constantly in the public eye for one reason or another.
I agree... You know, maybe cause I like to be private about some things, I personally wouldn't want some guy posting my pix on some random message board without my knowledge (I mean it could be happening as we speak), but I find it disrespectful as well as creepy.
Not only that but really, nobody gives three shits who your fantasy girl/guy is.....save that info for yo mama
