So brothas must be marrying white women at a crazy fast rate for those numbers to keep going up despite the high divorce rates. Not to mention a lot of us brothas get pegged as not the marrying type, just look at the complaints in the black community around the issue, yet black men seem to be marrying white women in growing numbers. None of this even begins to take into account folks simply cohabiting as well.
Funny how the vast majority of us marry bw yet there's such a shortage of bm. I don't get how no one calls them out on the bs.
Because that would just make too much sense. Besides, we all know that anyone that points that out is just trying to justify their own interracial delusions of grandeur. And that the closest thing to the truth that some women and men see in this is in movies like Obsessed that make it seem like Black men like Idris Alba's character are so far few and in between that black women everywhere must take up arms to protect their men from the evil white woman that might try to snatch him away like a thief in the night.

Well what they are reflecting on is current times. It was no more than what, 18 years ago, that the majority of african americans disagreed with marrying with white people (I think 72%). So people have to remember that a large portion of the marriage pot are individuals who were married a long time ago. For example, in the year 2008, 1 out of every 5 black males married a non black woman. It's expected that within 10 years, less than half of black males will marry a black woman. But in comparison to the entire numbers that have black people married since who knows how old they are (60's, 50's?) it's going to constantly seem small in comparison to the total amount of marriages out there, with far more than the majority happening before the IR boom hit. The change in marrying demographics has only just recently begun to happen, with no more than 8 years ago that only 10% of black males would marry a non black woman. In 2008, it raise to 20%, so I'd wager it would be another 30-50 years before that affects the entire marriage demographic as a whole (meaning around 50% of black men would be married to a non black woman as whole, and not just by one year.)
The claim of a high divorce rate with our IR coupling is a just a myth created in an attempt to create discouragement for this kind of coupling, it's false. The rate is around the same as any other combination or same race relationship would be.
That's great Babybro. 50% of BM married to non blacks in 50 years if that comes to past as you say, that will be a positive effect as many beautiful mixed boys and girls will be born from these relationships. That would greatly change the demographics of marriage as you say, but it would also change the demographics of many things in this nation...sports, music, etc. I may not be here to see it, but that will make for some pretty exciting things in America.
