So what happens now? Will it be restored? If that's the case, me being hardest-hit of'em all having lost 17 points.... Damn these cutbacks and the Koch brothers.

Damn, if Tirkah lost 17, then I really don't have a clue what's going on. I was thinking maybe we were all bad and got spanked. That maybe it had to do with that Julie thread maybe. But now, I haven't the slightest idea. Maybe it is just a glitch and will be fixed....
So it recalculated already I see. I've been tweaking the rep system and made a few changes. It will not affect anyone's reputation relative to other members. In other words every member will increase or decrease at the same rate. However, going forward three changes were made. 1. What reputation level shall new users receive upon registration? Changed from 10 to 50. This is to prevent any one member from instantly restricting a new member. Many members can currently give more than -10 in negative reputation points. 2. How many reputation clicks can a user give over each 24 hour period? Changed from 3 to 1. This was done to increase the value of reputation and slow the rate of inflation. 3. For every X points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power. Changed from 100 to 150. As rep power increases this will have to be adjusted periodically to counter the multiplier effect as members gain higher rep power.
It all makes sense & sounds pretty fair. I'm going to miss being able to rep more than one person per 24 hours though. Thanks for explaining.
Actually, it has, Ive lost 7 and comparing to others, it seems I have lost a larger relative lump that others. I now have the same number (22) as peeps that have less posts and less green dots..
Posts are a factor but some members get a lot of +rep from others. Before the changes, a new user could move up (or down) the chain faster than it took you to do the same. The change everyone sees are points being divided by 150 instead of 100.
