Personally, laying the groundwork in advance has worked wonders for me. I've been traveling for over 20 yrs. It saved me from making mistakes when globetrotting...but, to each his own.

First, I'll check out some websites about Sweden, its attractions and nightlife. Monocle magazine is BIG on Sweden and Scandinavia in general. There's usually at least one spread on some aspect of Swedish culture each month.

Would you say 50%/50%? It looks like there's some truth to what both sockervadd and kid rasta have to say. LOL. As a novice, I guess I'll try both approaches.

 

I would say more like 25% interest, 75% disinterest. Sockervadd is right for the most part. What I have learned with Swedes is that they tend to not start conversations with people they don't know. You have to get into their social circle.

 

What if you did that same thing here......contact women you don't know via FB? Do you think your percentage would be similar? Are they so different than us in the end?

 

Tack Geek, I learn something every day about Finland. I wonder Swedish women love Black men more than Finnish or Russian women? In my first trip to Sweden I went to a bar where I've seen two African men with Finnish girlfriends.

 

In finland they actually have more problems with racism than over here.. not so surprising since finland almost doesn't accept any immigrants..

 

If i had to guess...I would say 55% Interest, 45% Disinterest if I would message American women of any background. By interest, I mean actually willing to converse with you a little and find out about you. Americans are generally friendly, in my experience.
