Matt Damon joins the growing list of celebrities unhappy with President Obama Is President Obama losing support in Hollywood? In an interview set to air tonight, actor Matt Damon tells CNN's Piers Morgan he's unhappy with the president. Asked point blank if he thinks the president has been doing a good job running the country, Damon simply replied, "No." "I really think he misinterpreted his mandate. A friend of mine said to me the other day, I thought it was a great line, 'I no longer hope for audacity,'" Damon said, referring to the title of Obama's political memoir. "He's doubled down on a lot of things, going back to education ... the idea that we're testing kids and we're tying teachers salaries to how kids are performing on tests, that kind of mechanized thinking has nothing to do with higher order. We're training them, not teaching them." The criticisms count for more than standard-issue celebrity belly-aching, since Damon was one of Obama's earliest and best-known celebrity supporters during the 2008 presidential campaign. The actor and Oscar-winning screenwriter appeared at fundraisers for the Democratic candidate and hit the campaign trail on Obama's behalf. This isn't the first time Damon has criticized Obama. Last year, the actor told reporters he was "disappointed" and "a little let down" by the president's leadership--but he was quick to add that Obama deserved more "time" to work on things. Apparently, Damon no longer feels that way.
It's on Yahoo news, but that "Matt Damon says Obama NOT doing a good job" is Unchosen's tabloid headline
I agree with Damon. The President compromises way too much especially with people who turn around and say fuck you to him at every turn. Those racist good ol boys don't want to work with him so he should railroad them and call it a day but instead he acts like that nerdy kid who wants everyone to be his friend. No clear plan on how to ease unemployment No accountability for the assholes who caused the recession. No one has gone to jail yet. The obamacare could have been far better Extending tax cuts for the wealthy who don't create jobs but outsource. It is what is, he needs to step up his game asap.

Damon didn't say those words verbatim, which is different then saying "no" to the question "is the president doing a good job". It's more sensationalist then Damon's actual answer and elaboration with relation to the issues he has with Obama.
I'm not sure whether it's funny or sad that so many expected so much from this guy. I surely didn't, that is why I'm not surprised by his action or inaction. I'm actually surprised some of his supporters are upset.
Damon needs to remember that the Republicans have control of the House of Representatives. 2011 is going to be a year of political gridlock. We can't expect much to change in this year and in next year. Wait for Obama to get re-elected and for the Democrats to regain control the House. If all goes well eventually, things will accelerate again in Obama's favor in 2013 and in the years beyond that.
People act like they were expecting Obama to walk on water. Doesn't matter who would've been President right now, they'd be struggling and would not be doing a good job.
I disagree had it been Bush or any other Republican they would have done what they wanted and served their constituents instead of always trying to reach across the damn aisle. They refuse to work with him on any issue. Democrats are fucking week. They claim to have answers but are way too pussy to execute. One thing I'll give the shitty Republicans is they get shit done and don't give a fuck who likes them.
I pay taxes and expect to be represented and if I'm not being represented then I hsve every right to complain about it. Fuck what you guys currently expect my question is is it right? And if its not we should speak up about it. Complacency is the road to destruction. We all need to wake up and speak up.
