Actually I have some realtives in Columbia trying to lose weight.. and they were like saying how good and healthy they ate

"last night we ate sooo good, we did veggies in the oven. First we put a lot of vegetables and then we put on a lot of cheese.. yum and really healthy"

so obviously there are people not aware of how calories will affect the scale

First of all kudos for them. Secondly veggies and cheese is probably way better than what they normally ate to become fat.
It has to be slow and gradual or they won't stick to it. It has to appear effortless

Naaah, I think the problem is they don't know how to eat healthy AND good food at the same time.. I mean anyone cud just start eating only carrots, but who would want that??

I think most people do at least here in the US but we it fast and we want it now. Pizza Chinese food and other fast foods are fast and can be delivered to your home. Healthy food always takes longer preperation and costs more.
People know what to eat but won't do it. Its all choice.

    coasts more?!? BS :p

preparing ut own food must be cheaper than paying someone else for doing it.. and just cook much food whenever so u can freeze it and just warm it up whenever u want to. then it's actually faster, cheaper AND healthier

that's true, but everything has to do where u keep ur priorities..

and if u eat good food u can gain a lot of time by postponing ur dying day :p

Dude, I just remembered. Would you believe me if I told you that you've actually debated yourself at least once before and lost?

You posted something one day and came back the next day and replied to your own post stating "You dumbass, it sounds like you were too cool for school in your youth days and smoked crack all day everyday", not knowing it was in fact your own post. I'd bet you'll put yourself on 'Ignore list' one of these days.

First, let me say that I live a life dedicated to a healthy life style. I know the impact of a good diet personally and my blood chemistry and body fat have changed more significantly from diet than working out, and I've always worked out very very hard.

Now, to answer you question, I don't believe that most people know that they are often eating bad food, and that includes fast food. Addressing the issue of fast food eaters, I have seen people who thought that they were eating "healthy". They would purchase a cheeseburger, regular fries, regular size soda and an "fruit pie", fruit cup or "yogurt". The problem is that the burger and fries and the fried apple dessert contain more fat than they should have in a day. The supposed regular sized soda contains enough sugar to send your glucose levels through the roof, and then you add more sugar and fat from the processed fruit cups and yogurt that contain high fructose corn syrup. The sodium level of even this "normal" meal would be quite high as well. Alternately, you have the person who feels that they are diet conscious who opts for the salad and a baked potato. That's a great choice, right? Of course, until they add the sour cream and butter, and usually too much of both. That salad would be good too if they used veggie oil and vinegar, rather than the processed high sugar, high fat dressings. I don't think that most people think of even pizza as true junk food because people don't know the amount of calories, fat, sugar and salt that these foods contain.

As another example, a female friend of mine asked me to help her and her family to eat more healthy. So, I asked if I could see her cupboard. She was proud of the oatmeal I found until I asked why why she bought the packets of flavored oatmeal. I pointed out the increased sodium, much greater sugar content, and showed her that her "health food" was no better than many sugary cereals. I did the same thing with her peanut butter, which was not natural and contained high amounts of sugar. On to the "wheat bread", not really whole wheat, high in sugar and not healthy. The cheese, not non-fat. The ketchup, with added sugar. On to the frozen or canned veggies that contained sugar or lots of salt. How about the "95% fat free turkey patties". Read the label carefully and you see that they are more than 20% fat. I could go on but I think you see the trend. People aren't educated, and don't understand or know enough to read labels with scrutiny. Collectively, the poor choices in food items add up and the average diet becomes very unhealthy, and they make bad choices out of ignorance.

I don't understand your reference to the 3%?? Perhaps, you're alluding to your earlier post suggesting that a small percentage of people have problems losing weight due to metabolic issues. I'm not referring to those people. I routinely see people failing to lose weight at the gym. Few people in the gym know what it takes to achieve their goals. For the great majority of people, they don't work hard enough in the gym. Cardio work should be challenging, not something that you do while chatting on your mobile or supporting yourself with your hands to make the exercise easier. The weight lifting programs of most people are inadequate as well. Qualified personal trainers could help some do better, but many can't afford them. Also, I have had every personal trainer in my current gym to consult with me about exercises they should do to improve their fitness.

Sorry for the long post. I'm off to the gym now, abs and calves, short workout.

Great, informative post. Glad to see that you're working out. If we can send a message/make working out appear to be "fun" and like a video game, then more Americans would be doing it and actually enjoying it. That is something possible to consider in the future with things like MotionTraxx and other workout mixes that are being developed.

On another note, lets forget about Goodlove, he does not have enough intellect to warrant anything of value to post here.
