I think that has to do more with the interest of the sports over anything else. For example, basketball is arguably the second most popular sport here in America, thus in the olympics, they do very well. A few times they slip up but that's because they weren't caring, when they actually care about winning, the dominate. Besides, the olympics shouldn't determine the shape of America. Far more than the majority of people in America can never come close to achieving what people in the olympics achieve. We have to place realistic goals for people to achieve. Baby steps you can say, and that's just to get people to be at average weight.

Ok, you're correct. I do like girls who do have a sense of drive and ambition within them, because I personally have the same characteristics. BW like those (and those kinds of women in general), I have an genuine interest in. You just don't see that often in America at all, with a lot of American men/women. Only at that certain time on TV is when you see these kinds of amazing things on display. Those kinds of BW on the TV are nothing like the BW in this country. Even their attitude and the way they carry themselves is completely different. Goodlove should view this thread since it proves that I didn't create it to bash women or bash BW, as he claims other people on here did. It was to make an inference and fully express my views about what I think about obesity. If I were to please everyone on this site and not piss anyone off, I'd be very narrow minded and limited in what I'd have to say. Suppose I made another women's related topic, about birth control or abortion? What would we all think about that?

Well, we all do have our pitfalls, nobody is perfect. What I do desire is that one day, more BW like Meseret Defar are around within the United States and across the world. Then maybe most of the guys on here would have different opinions about how they perceive BW. They can reach an "even ground" with WW, and as a result, some of the negative stereotypes about us being sellouts, race traitors, and bashing BW because we prefer WW wouldn't be the norm within black magazines and black entertainment media. But we don't live in that kind of world, so these are the kinds of conflicts we have to deal with instead. I am fearful that IR dating would increase in future years, but the particular coupling of BM and WW will be the only coupling that still receives a lot of controversy and problems from everyone else. Now I know that pisses people off, but that's my opinion and I believe it has some merit and credibility to it. Some people are going to disagree, some are going to agree.

Everytime I watch it I have to bang out 100 push ups and get ready for the Arena.

What it is beneath your feet?

    Lol

the fight scenes are brutal, but the training is realistic. It actually shows them weight training along with sparring, to get into shape

Unlike other shows where everyone is fit and buff, but are never shown working out

I watched blood and sand, and am now about to finish the Gods of the Arena prequel

    The last episode is sick.
I just hope they are renewed since the main character has cancer.

It's renewed with a different guy playing spartacus

gods of the arena gets you involved with other characters, and kinda takes you away from Andy whitfield who played spart

you get to focus on returning actors that play crixus and doctoori, to buffer the lost of Andy who's being replaced with Liam mcintyre

Yeah, but it pissed me off that Doctoori never got to exact his revenge on his wife and Gatacus. She got off easy with the poisoning and Gatacus gets his freedom, walking away with the secret of banging his best friends wife still intact. Bullshit, Doctoori deserves better.

I think he got off easy. He was spared the truth of his wife's and his boy's betrayal.

I can see that point of view, I just don't think that in this particular case that ignorance is bliss, why did the producers have to sully the one seemingly loving, positive IR romance/marriage with infidelity, where the wife ends up preferring the blond, blue eyed dude. Ah hell its just a show, perhaps I am reading too much into it....
