Thanksgiving is about being thankful for the blessings that you got - I dont celebrate that POS of a WM holiday. He celebrates it for climbing a ship, lying to my ancestors and wiping them out. I sure as heck also not gonna celebrate NBA all star weekend as my Thanksgiving, why should I call it my Thanksgiving? coz bunch of negros that I have no personal realtions with are making abundunt money and getting super model pussy playing a sport, nah it aint my Thanksgiving.
Dont get me wrong, I watch the game and enjoy the dunk competiton but it aint my Thanksgivng.

My Thanksgiving is the day they told me that I can get a job with this piece of paper any where in the world and placed myself in a long highway to financial freedom. I know it is a long highway and is gonna be lots of driving, hot damn it, at least I am on the highway. That is something I am Thankful for.

There was a joke and it goes like this:

"How do you stop a group of blacks guys from fighting?"

    "Throw in a basket ball!"

It is time for us to end this sterotype.

Ghettoes from all over America send their delegations to the All Star Game. Sistas play the competitive sport "How Can I Get Chose By A Baller?" The shit is like Freaknik for niggas who never went to college.

Most of the groupies who actually wrangle themselves a player are porn stars or video vixens. There was a distinctive upgrade in the looks and fashion of women around the city this week. I'm glad it rained though, as it probably kept a lot of the swamp rats in their hotel rooms.

All that said, it wasn't CNN that called NBA All-Star weekend "Black Thanksgiving"; it was a black sportswriter who used the term. I'm a fan of the game and yes the NBA has adopted an image that largely reflects the taste of black consumers. So what? The NFL is no different in its use of country music artists (e.g. Faith Hill) and embracing of the military-industrial complex. In both leagues, you see a conscious effort to fit inside a particular cultural niche, which can certainly be criticized but there's also immeasurable value in the game itself.

I only said CNN said it, because the report was done by one of their reporters... I forgot who it was, but they said David Aldridge (the guy who wrote the report) was getting the cold shoulder from a couple of players the past few days. They dont know if its because of what he said or not.

I wonder what the backlash would be if a Caucasian reporter made a similar comment about the participants and spectators of the Daytona 500?

World War 3 lol... He might get called racist, probably not. We live in a extremely pc society, so anything that can be taking out of context in a derogatory way gets met with conflict/aversion.

Actually, since NASCAR took safety measures because of the death of Dale Earhart the tv ratings and attendance have gone down. The result, crashes have dropped.

I guess the fans who wanted to see death on the track were disappointed, until this past Sunday at the Daytona 500.

Actually David Aldridge is an intelligent, thoughtful journalist who should have never been let go by ESPN. But he has landed on his feet quite well with regular gigs for TNT, the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Tony Kornheiser Show.

Some background information..."The Black Thanksgiving" was a nickname that Michael Wilbon (the African American co-host of PTI) came up with for the NBA Draft and he used to mention it in his Washington Post columns and during his appearances on the original Tony Kornheiser radio show. The nickname was a semi-joke although Wilbon was serious about how big he felt the event was to many black folks. After awhile Wilbon started referring to the NBA All Star Event by the same name. One of Wilbon's former colleagues at the Washington Post was David Aldridge, whom he is also friends with. So you can be sure Aldridge was simply borrowing Wilbon's phrase. In fact on today's Tony Kornheiser Show Mr. Tony himself brought up how Aldridge (who is a regular on his show) was "stealing" the nickname for his CNN column.

Aldridge is one of the best writers when it comes to the NBA (writes regularly for the NBA.com and is one of the regular studio experts for NBA TV). He has been covering professional sports for over 20 years. That being said I'm sure the NBA doesn't want him alienating the mainstream too much by calling the NBA All Star Weekend the "Black Thanksgiving".

Kobe's dad was a pro baller who was able to attract a beautiful wife, so Kobe gets his so-called good genetics from that. But other than that (and Kobe actually looks older than you guys are suggesting), LeBron is a better physical specimen than Kobe. So it is LeBron who wins in the DNA department.

Bron is stronger, has bigger horse power but Kobe looks more Athletic. Bryant also looks a lot younger than Bron. Bron and Greg Odom look a lot older than their stated age. BTW do you have a link to Kobe parents pic?
