Ding, ding, ding, that is something else as well I notice.

I mean heaven forbid you are a refined, gentlemanly, respectful black man who pulls your pants up, can speak properly and doesn't care what the latest rap album is, no prison record and slinging drugs from a dope house.

Yet the moment the educated, put together brotha gets a white girl because she gels with his style and personality, its a bunch of b.s. assumptions about it, and how he is a sellout, Uncle Tom, status, etc.

here is your qoute and others

I and others pointed out that you didnt get upset at the AW thread but you was at the BW and you never got upset at other race threads put up and you responded

because AW skin color is closer to white ...... "Bullshit. I bitched about the Indian women thread too. More bitches you mfers pump up but will never get. As for Asian women, they're closer to white women than any of these chicks you keep drooling over"

also what makes you think you can pull hot as hell WW. are you saying hot ww will lower themselves to date your ass. BITCH get off the pipe.

another individual stated that it was an insult to put up a black women thread in wwbm

the problem is they never got upset at the other race threads...?

there were ww saying they were not bothered by the BW thread but you guys insisted on it. other people (bm) stated the samething I was saying through out that thread and another guy made a thread calling you out.
    ===============================
the BW hating the fact that BM are choosing ww and they dont like the
"competition". when It comes to BW I point out the hypocrisy of it all but to show disdain toward them will never happen.

now getting to the essence of this topic and get away from black loathing bitches like skarma

Yall have to remember that BW have the mentality we can do IR but you cant. We are independant and strong until the bill comes. its call hypocrisy.

women of all races in america do this. the difference between ww and bw is that BW have TV specials to air their grievances where ww dont really so much do that and BM and WM dont get on TV doing the same. However there is a movement of men who arent taking any more.

why not just say "my significant other is beautiful"? Or even, "my WHITE significant other is beautiful". I don't get it. Are you implying that all white women are beautiful?

That's probably why you received so much backlash. Some people probably took your statement to mean that, "ALL white women are beautiful as opposed to...." Catch my drift?

    I think he must have...

What's the problem with that exactly?

That's like a woman saying 'Italian men are freakin' hot!' People do not have a problem with that. Why should anyone have a problem with Ymra saying, on his own private FB status, that he thinks WW are beautiful?

When you say things like that, all goes volatile. To be honest, just do what you do best and give them a big "fuck you" to the face for not being able to express your personal tastes in women. I can relate indefinitely.

Nothing wrong with that at all. I'm just pointing out, in my opinion, why he probably caught flack from the post.

My (white) future mother in law is beautiful. My (white) future sister in law, not so much. (But that's just me judging beauty by content, not by the cover.)

OK...but my point is- why should anyone care who he finds beautiful? This is the thing that always gets me, that's all.

I don't know...probably because, to some people, using skin color as a means of stratification (whether positive or negative) always contributes to racial stereotypes. Can we really justify anyone saying that "white women, black women, Italian men, etc. are beautiful without accepting the ugly connotations that stem from negative stereotypes?

"Italian men are hot, but they're all in the mob so steer clear!" "Black women are sexy, but they have attitudes, so steer clear!", "White women are gorgeous, but they are (insert stereotype here)". "Black men are fine, but they are (again, insert negative stereotype)". See what I mean?

Either drop the generalizations all together or don't complain when someone uses your race as a means to belittle you. That's just my opinion.

Gotta take the good with the bad?

I see your point, however, that applies to everyone and everything. Someone could profess a love for blonde women, and the comments would explode with 'They're hot- too bad they're daft!'

Part of breaking some of that down is, to me, not being afraid to voice a preferential attraction for the person you like, and telling people who have a problem with it to bug off. I've told many people if they didn't like that I am attracted to BM, they can put on their big girl panties and deal because stereotyping has no place in polite discussion.

Belittling someone is a separate issue. Are you arguing that by stating a preference for WW, Ymra was somehow knocking BW? When I voice a preference for BM, does that mean I'm knocking WM? Heck no..there are some sexy WM out there- I will be the first one to tell you that. It is what it is though, you know?

No not at all (at the bold). I am simply saying that, when we embrace "positive" sweeping generalizations about any particular group , how can we complain when negative generalizations are used against us? They're all generalizations and don't apply to every person in any race, class, gender, religion etc.

    "Muslims are terrorists!"

"Muslims are the most peaceful people in the world!"

Both are generalizations just on opposite sides of the same coin.

You are correct- generalizations, by their very nature, are not 100% accurate. But arguing against them is like arguing against breathing. People are programmed to speak in generalities. Humans adapt and bond through sharing information that's both personal and not...our nature of speaking in generalities allows us to communicate with a wider audience and with greater appeal to those audiences. It's the first method of contact, so to speak.

Sure, it's lazy, but I don't think we can really argue linguistics. ;)

I understand what you're saying but how about we ALL deprogram and start judging individuals on case by case basis

  19. TheHuntress

    TheHuntress Well-Known Member

We can't deprogram. It's how the human mind is designed to work. I suppose if you censored every single thing you said every single day for the rest of your life- you could accomplish it. However, you'd have a hard time connecting. It's just like saying 'I love action movies!' and someone saying 'OMG! ME TOO!! I loved Terminator!' and you come back with 'well, that one I wasn't a huge fan of...but ACTION MOVIES!! YAY!!' ;)

I'm not saying it's right..but I am saying that coming to a forum with a huge community, or even to Facebook and spouting something general is meant to do much the same thing- build a sense of bonding, familiarity, and community. I'm sure when Ymra talks to people one on one he would tell you about certain WW he does not find attractive- however, there's a much larger subset of WW he DOES find attractive, and so that generality was born out of ease of use and community.

We don't even know we do this stuff, blueskies. I guarantee you do it several times a day...we all do! BUT, if you manage to reprogram yourself, please share. :)

Its really very simple. Live by the golden rule. Not much more to it than that.

*I guess I could elaborate but its late. If I'm not banned by tomorrow, I'll continue my contribution to this discussion.

Thanks for being intelligent and mature enough to engage btw.
