What was your first job???

That's a really lovely post. Regardless of other people's opinions its nice that you drew such a significant experience from that job and carried it with you. That is part of the value of employment. It shows an emotional maturity you must have had at that age.

My first job was in a fish and chip shop throwing things in the deep fryer at 14. I'll never forget the owner telling me how he'd love to do something else but had not been able to learn English well enough yet to practise his trade (Computer engineer). But he was in that damn fish shop from 7am til 10pm every day so he could put his kids through school. Not so long ago I was back home and saw him over at the college

 

shop assistant in nice footwear shop. I was 18

 

My first legal job was working at Long John Silver's. Even tho I made $5.35 a hour I still regard that highly as one of the best jobs ever. Looked forward to going into work everyday.

 

Teaching. I taught Accounting in High School and i hated it because sometimes you just wanna smack some of these kids in the face.

My first job was hosting birthday parties at Chuck E. Cheese, It was good for a 16 year old. Only drawback was dressing up in the damn mouse costume

 

My first job was in the laboratory of a cigarette factory.This was in the university holidays.I collected samples from around the factory and the lab would analyse them for faults.Fun job though talking to people as I went around and boy did I learn stuff about life in that job!I had had a somewhat strict upbringing .lol

 

My first job was as a "checkout chick" at a supermarket. I was 16.

I hated that job with a passion.

Safeway

The only job ive been fired from. I used to help customers put their groceries in their car. The reason I was fired is because I would constantly just up and leave when my shift ended instead of worrying about the next guy comin in to take over for me.

ha, ive workd at safeway before, its now called morrisons over here in the uk, thats if its the same kinda safeway lol

 

My first job was at a fast food place. My dad didn't want his kids working but my friends did so I finally got a job when I was 17.

The place was a franchise and the owner's son managed it for him. He pretty much sexually harrassed every woman who worked there on his whims. He treated me nice because my sister had worked there before me so I got the cushie jobs and no extra job assignments (like clean the bathrooms) until he told me that my extra job was something special. He said I should meet him in the stockroom and suck on something. I called my sister after work and said wuh ??!!! I quit at her insistance. I was going away to college so no big loss on the job.
