Not as much criminal....death penalty for raping, etc.
The other day a man was executed for child rape...however, I have not heard of death penalty for other rape...I hate stuff like that so i try not to read daily news too much. I get depressed

No penalty for lusting, staring...staring is quite normal here. but no one is supposed to record or take pics in the mall, etc....They used to do that but not anymore...haha

Do you sometimes fear for your life living there? Giving the possible circumstances where you could get the death penalty for even expressing minor PDA in public places, how cautious are you overall throughout your stay?

I have friends there already both whom are from the Philippines and are involved in restaurant and hotel tourism, currently living there.

 

Not more than I would fear at any other place really.....display of PDA in public places is definitely not a crime that would get you a death penalty. A month in jail and deportation in worst case scenario. Adultery will get you few months/deportation...Having a baby out of the wedlock will definitely get you one year jail, baby taken away for that one year and deportation. Plus, abortion is illegal here.
I am cautious yes but I am so used to it now that I feel weird when I see people all over each other back in Europe...hahaha. You make your decision before coming here, set your priorities straight and then it is up to you to stick to them or act a fool, get fired, go to jail or be deported....

 

But enough about jail and bad stuff....Dubai can be a fun party place definitely.

But i have seen girls wearing thongs on the public beach and nothing happened. Now, you don't want to do that in other Emirates such as Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
