Fight/Altercation - AA Women

The ladies and gents here might want to have a read at this, the morale for African American women conducting themselves in public still is pretty poor and that's a problem for us. When these women transfer from HCC to a 4 year school, this incident would be on their record and it would make it more difficult for 4 year universities to accept them, regardless of how well they did in school. Yet another reason why we can't date/hang out with these kinds of people because of risks like this.

On Saturday, February 5, 2011 at approximately 4:10 pm, Athletic department staff, called security to defuse an altercation in the gym during the Women's basketball game. Security responded at approximately 4:12 pm. Upon arrival, Security met with the Athletic deparment staff at the main desk. The staff member stated that two African American females, along with two young children approached her and stated that she was not allowed into the gym because she did not have her student ID with her. The staff member stated that according to policy, students are not allowed to be present at contests with out a student ID. The staff member stated that the one student said this was the first time she did not have her ID and an argument started between the staff member and the student. The student stated she would pay, but wanted to make her point known. Another student tried to stop the other student from arguing with the staff member. The staff member said "sorry, but that is the policy". The staff member followed the student to the Admissions table, The student then backed away as the staff member stated they should charge her double. The student flipped her hand, refused to pay and started to storm past the table. The staff member stated "I'm calling security and your gone." The student also put her hand in another staff member’s face and said "you are not allowed to talk to me" along with shouting profanities loudly. The other Athletic staff member was collecting money at the table. The two students and the two children left the gym area. As they were passing the staff member, the student still shouting, gave the staff member "the finger." The staff member then stated "you are gone for the rest of the season." The student responded back "there are no more games." All four individuals then exited the building and left HCC. At approximately 4:11pm., the staff member stated that the student has been to various games and has been disruptive during these games. The student was described as a female, African American, black hair, approximately 5'-6", wearing a black jacket and jeans. There is video footage of this incident and a copy is attached. No further information at this time.

Well, I'm just pointing out that this incident happened in the gym. Also, it's news relative to the community college I'm in, at least. I didn't know where else to put it so that's why I put it here.

 

Fights happen everywhere you can imagine on earth so......? I'm still missing your whole point. Why didn't you post about the Father and Son fighting outside of the gym?


On Saturday, January 29, 2011 at approximately 3:15 pm, Athletic department staff
called security to defuse an altercation in the gym during the Women’s Basketball game.
Upon arrival, Security found two individuals outside of the Athletic and Fitness building
arguing. The two individuals were identified as non-students (a father and son). The
Athletic department stated to Security that the father came to the gym in search of his
son whom had run away from home the day before. The father found his son in the
bleachers at the Women’s Basketball game and escorted him to the lobby of the AF
building where they began to tussle. The Athetlic department staff member also stated
that he and other witnesses came into the lobby and intervened on the situation. The
father stated that everything was "Okay" and for everyone to give him and his son a
moment. As soon as the Athletic department staff and the other witnesses entered back
into the gym, the father attempted to drag his son by his foot out of the building. The
Athletic department and the other witnesses intervened again and security arrived on
scene shortly after. After being briefed on the incident, the Security officer notified
dispatch and informed them that 9-1-1 needed to be called due to the father’s age and
nature of the incident; domestic act of violence. Howard County Police Officer arrived on
scene at approximately 3:34 pm. Howard County EMS was not called to the scene
because there weren’t any visible marks on the son. The police officer told the son to
"go home with your father or spend the night in jail". The father and his son both left
campus together at approximately 4:25 pm. The police officer also left campus at
approximately 4:25 pm. There is video footage of this incident. No further information at
this time.
