I've just came home today and bought thirty tacos and six chalupas from Taco Bell, all in the rain. Earlier, I helped out a friend start her car...and quite frankly I'm just drenched...but cooled off.
I was emailing with a friend today and I told her that I had just submitted my time card for last week and got mad again because I saw the "vacation" day for last week's snow day. It just irks me to no end. She agreed that it's unfair and she told me that her company did not dock anyone and she was grateful and expressed her appreciation for that. I told her my building was having a meeting tomorrow (we do one every month to see how our company is doing) and we get to "meet" our new Japanese CEO. I said that I really wanted to ask a question about why employees like me get docked for things that are clearly beyond our control. Then I said that I don't have the balls to do that. She said, yeah, it's probably best that you don't "make waves" anyway. It got me thinking about how "wonderful" the business world is. They make it so you have to quietly take the shaft that they shove up your arse instead of speaking up out of fear of losing your job or some other bad thing. The business world SUCKS. LOL.
Sorry to hear that Bookie. In this climate, companies think they can do whatever they want because the job market is so tight.
Bookie! I'm so sorry! I hope that when this recession lifts a little more you can find someplace that really values you.
In the strongest possible terms, I highly suggest that you bring it up. He is an out of town CEO, he will appreciate hearing real talk from his employees. I'm sure most people will be silent, and I'm also sure that many others are thinking the same thing. Your fellow employees will respect you and I don't feel that there will be any retribution. It may turn out that nothing changes after you say it but I know this: You will feel better about yourself for having said something, and this will continue to eat away at you if you don't. Do it for your daughter, they took a vacation day away that you could have spent with her going to the zoo or something. DO IT BOOKS!!!! I'm rooting for you
I would have made an A on the Thermodynamics exam if I had more time for the problem part...and it was so damn easy! I didn't quite get why I didn't refer to the table regarding water. Ah well, it's a good start...and a better future.
How can you be docked for a day the office was "closed"? That would be like being charged a vacation day for Christmas. :smt017
I had the same question for him until I read his occupation entails research.......It is nice to read that some young brothers value excellency on their thermo exam as opposed to posting photos of their dicks on forum......We just might still have some hope as a race of men!.........
