All a man can ask for minx

I often say, even if every woman on earth wanted me, its not like I could ever be with all of them. :)

You just want that 1 special woman in your life to share it with at the end of the day. 8)

Hey Fabio it depends what city you are visiting, as to what type of women you will find.

Sadly I think there are many women out here that don't do us proud. They fall over a man just because he's black and don't discriminate. Kind of sad. However if you looking for something fast then I guess it's to your advantage.

However you will also find some clubs and bars if you search a little that are just good music and a small friendly vibe.

They attract all types of people and connections just develop naturally rather than being a meat market. I was in the music kind of scene for awhile in my professional role but had the chance to connect across the board with clients. I found Melbourne has a very nice fraternity where you will find lots of lovely, beautiful and classy ladies in small bars with a nice black/white/latino/european mix.

    That's just my take.

If you want something fast and dirty for the most part try Newcastle, and some trashier parts of the Gold Coast (sorry Minx!).

I'm sorry my fellow Aussie women, but we all know its true.

I mean, you can find all types everywhere. I know we can't really generalise. But if we were to generalise see above

We travel alot as a couple, there are some places we go and my man will get asked 10 million times a night if someone can pull his hair (or they just do it anyway.. long dreadlocks). I let him take care of that himself but I'm sure many find it extremely annoying. It doesn't happen overseas.

Then again guys do that to my hair too for some reason. Maybe its an affliction we have.

Yes, exactly. People may have a preference but going out and generalising with it is unwise. Especially when communities are small. Creates awkward moments very quickly! Good men and bad men come in all packages.

Hi Fabio. Two thoughts re a) interracial dating and b) the experience of racism in the Australian dating scene.

    a) My perception as a woman who predominately dates African born men, is that although it might be a minority of women who date black men, you won't get negative vibes. Again, I speak from personal experience only (and skewed perspective it is but shh! *grins*), but it seems to me that interracial dating is a huge issue in the States and somewhat so in other countries, but it definitely doesn't feel like that here, at least to me. Certainly, we'll attract looks at times, but I think that's more about curiosity and the impact of a striking couple! I've never ever felt like there was a negative vibe towards us (individually or as a couple). My big disclaimer on this one is that I've never dated an African American, only African born Australians! (Which shall of course exempt me from any liability either implied or otherwise *grins cheekily*)

    b) I think that of the pool of white women who date outside their race, many do so with curiosity and passion. I think there is a difference between being of "novelty value" (which may or may not feel demeaning, or conversely, satisfying, depending on your individual take on it) and a more lasting attraction. I imagine the majority of WW on this site experience the latter as opposed to the former (hence the saying, "once you go black, you never go back"!). Suffice to say, I am confident you will be approached on more than one occasion!

Argh, I've written an epic when I merely meant to comment briefly! *considers deleting post but refrains* Apologies all *blush*

Agree with above. Being from melbourne you know what I mean about the difference between a really nice blended vibe of all kinds and just a sleazy one.

I'm not on "the market" these days but I drifted away from Aussie men because of this.

LOL, I can only imagine that getting really irritating, whilst you try to maintain a cheery and accommodating persona about it. :)

Very insightful funkyspirit. Nice to hear your perspective.

I've often said the most visibly powerful interracial coupling is a black man with a white woman, for obvious reasons.

I completely agree about the curiosity and passion. I remember when I went off to college and hung around white women, my personality just gelled easily with the women I spoke to. I never felt out of place, uncomfortable or like this experience isn't for me. It's just something I'm so at ease with.

Hi leskola, and thanks for talking about that with me.

Let's say that is funny to see how you guys describe the reception towards black guys in australia.
    i 'm kind of '' can't believe '' that. in a good way.

to be honest im not looking for fast relationships, and whould be nice to know classy ladies for sure.
